Strategy for last 3 games? Rest? / Play Everyone?

Post#1 » by bstein14 » Tue Apr 8, 2025 1:57 am

We've got 3 games left and we're sitting a 1.5 games back of Milwaukee. We've 100% playing either New York or Indiana. There is some amount of not wanting to show all your cards to the Knicks right before playing them in a playoff series...

First thing to decide is, are we playing to try to get the Knicks or the Pacers specifically or do we not care about matchup? The Knicks may very well be playing to try to win and secure that #3 seed so they don't have to face proven NBA superstar Giannis in the first round. They'd likely much rather face us young no experience kids.

The second thing to decide is, are we resting or are we playing to win as many games as possible down the stretch and possibly play three tough physical games in a row against the Knicks and Bucks. The last thing we want is Stew to get into it with the Bucks as his technical count is currently 15 so one more technical foul from him and its an automatic suspension for the following game.

vs New York
vs Milwaukke (B2B)

No one should require any rest, by all apearances the team has been resting for like the last 10 games, they need to lace up and compete.

Maybe take an interest in winning a d&mn game again.
They are playing like garbage and need to regain thier momentum, not rest, compete.

Everyone who is healthy should be playing. We need momentum going into the playoffs. They'll have a chance to rest during the week where the play-in games are on.

We are 5-5 in the last 10. That's tied for worst for east playoff teams. It's not like we are some vet team that is going to flip the switch.

I’m convinced the main cast of guys needs to get a big win to go into the playoffs confidently. We need to take it to the Knicks on Thursday. We won’t be playing the Bucks in the playoffs, but win or loss, we can’t go out sad defensively and we need Beasley to get his swag back

Play everyone healthy- finish this season strong and try to recapture some momentum going into the playoffs.

I don't care who we play, especially now that homecourt is firmly out of reach- I don't think it matters. We can beat either the Knicks or the Pacers- it's within the realm of possibility, but we need to acknowledge we'll be an underdog against either team. Intensity ramps up in the playoffs so I'm not going to set too much stock in the in-season matchups either.

But you don't want to go into the playoffs in a slump.

I think the Minny incident cause us to lose momentum. We need to figure out how to get that back

One more dominent fashion shut down of the Bucks to keep the Mojo going and then play the bench ghys last game to secure the 6th seed by splitting the Bucks contests.

I think we win a Knicks series 1st round.

Rest tonight on the second leg of a back-to-back. Play the first half of the finale only. Anyone hurt should sit.
