2025 NBA Finals

Post#1 » by MortSahlfan » Sun Jun 1, 2025 2:37 am

Pacers stop shooting 3's, and every shot goes in... It's not rocket science. Go to the basket. Floater. Mid-range. Forget "analytics" which causes guys to second guess their instincts.

I'm guessing OKC wins, but Indiana have some good players, too, and a better coach. It's too bad that "Inside the NBA" on TNT is done. It was usually more interested that the game itself!

This is probably controversial and I always complained about super teams but we went from teams led by transcendent players in the finals to this pacers team and boring FT merchant SGA. It just doesn’t feel exciting. I think ratings are going to hit an all time low for these finals.

It won’t be great for ratings, but I have a slim hope Indiana can handle the Thunder pressure and at least make it interesting.

If OKC steamrolls them, so be it. They were easily the most impressive team in basketball, so it’d hardly be a surprise.

Do you seriously care about ratings?

Hoping for an exciting series. You have the suffocating defense of OKC vs the free flowing Indiana offense which could make for some tight games. Can't help but feel it'll be a OKC gentleman's sweep though.

Sometimes you pick the absolute weirdest isht to comment on, man. Look at the previous post by CGC. I was just segueing into my hope (but doubt) that it’ll be a good series to watch as a fan. OKC is tough.

I think it looks like a super exciting series on paper. Who cares about "names". Boston's iso three chucking style is boring to watch, despite all their "name" players. Indy's relentless style on both ends against OKC's relentless defense and both teams having waves after waves of guys to send to keep energy high and the game flowing all game, every game should make for some beautiful basketball.
For this year at least the winning formula seems to be:

1. Depth
2. Bringing relentless energy on both sides (playing fast on offense, going to the basket, pressing full court on defense)
3. Being able to get hot from three

Honestly, our roster can (and last season did) have all three of those attributes. We were just a few breaks and a little top end talent away from the Indys of the world, imo.

Yeah I don’t like Boston’s style either. I guess I’m getting oddly nostalgic for the unique superstars: LeBron, Giannis, Steph, KD, KL, Duncan, Kobe, Dirk, Shaq. Maybe I’m biased but our 04 team had a uniqueness about them that I feel like the teams from the last couple years lack.

On paper OKC should win this in 5. They are a very complete team top to bottom.

That said, I'm taking the Pacers in 6. I like their mojo.

Both are great teams. I just think Indy has a lil bit more fire power on offense and the better HC. Besides SGA, who's the next scorer for OKC?

J. Williams - who is arguably better than anyone on Indy other than Siakam. OKC should take this series in five. Indy exposed Knicks' weaknesses. OKC doesn't have any and their D is much better than the Knicks'.

It’s intersting everyone think okc will dominate the series me included before the finals was set, but with everyone thinking okc my brain tends to go to Indiana. Weird, lol

Shay is bringing back the midrange, Chet has one of the most unique bodies in the NBA, and Hali has a style and flair that's pretty individual. I think if you put aside the established (and to me a bit dull at this point) superstar part you'll see that both OKC and Indy have a lot more of that 04 Pistons feel to them than most finals teams in recent years (in terms of defensive intensity and being full team efforts).

The thunder remind me of the Bad Boys. I truly enjoy watching them play.

90% of the NBA is complete trash to watch. It looks like a YMCA pickup game from the 90s.

Im thinking the refs will work really hard to extend the series to 5 games. As the playoff proceed the NBA transforms more into the WWE.

Has been an interesting series so far. Pacers definitely have more fight than I thought. Could see this series going to 7 games (would be first one since 2016 I believe).

Love watching playoff basketball, especially the Finals. The effort level on D and the importance of every possession just make this a whole other sport than the regular season. Indiana and Carlisle have earned a whole new level of respect. Very impressive what they are doing.

He had two great consecutive blocks on Holmgren that really energized the Pacers those last few minutes. I'd be happy to sign him, but it's not going to happen.
