Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
Draft is coming. Certainly different this year. What do we expect TL to do?

Re: Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
I voted trade up but that doesn't necessarily mean into the 1st round.
Also just a random draft note. I had a bunch of bonus bets like $2 and some change. With all of this Jeremiah Fears smoke I looked at what his odds were to go #3 last night at work and it was +12500. This morning it's +3000. Obviously still a Longshot but surely my $2 bonus bets can't swing them odds right?! Lol

Re: Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
Draft odds are really interesting. Does Vegas have the inside scoop? Probably yes. Do they also know how we are likely to bet so the can balance the odds to make money? Definitely yes. I would guess the latter is driving that odds change.

Trade up seems to be the consensus. That’s what I’d like but doesn’t seem to be the TL way. I guess we’ll see soon enough.

Re: Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
I don't know any of the draft prospects in the 20-60 range well enough to suggest if we trade up, down or out. But it does feels like we already have enough young guys to develop as it is, so unless a really good prospect falls to us I'd be OK with trading out for future pick(s).

Include it in a trade. Boston, Indiana, and Milwaukee have injuries. Let's upgrade.

Re: Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
i think we draft at 37, but trajan has deals in place (probably a couple future seconds) if all the players on their board are taken.
i wonder how teams drafting in the late first round are going to treat their picks. the suns and celtics are apron teams so they could trade the picks and shed $3M of their books or they could opt to keep them as cheap contracts while they navigate the aprons. brooklyn is rebuilding but they have 4 first rounders which is a lot of rookies to add, even in a rebuild.
whoever we do end up drafting i hope they're a junior/senior and ready to contribute early on and not a project like bobi last year, he just spent the entire season in the g league. andrew nembhard is a great example of a senior contributing from day one, he started basically off the bat and was a starter on a playoff team that went to the ECF and finals in year 2 and 3.

Re: Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
Trade out. Langdon is gonna have a hell of a time paying all the players as is. Adding another one, that also hits the cap? Ain't gonna happen.

Re: Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
Trade Ivey for to the nets for 8 + 19 and future pick swap. draft Igor Demin at 8, Flemming at 18, run the basic playoff roster back with these two added. This puts off paying him a big contract and these guys will have at least three years.

Re: Simple Pistons 2025 Draft Poll
The following players were drafted with pick #37 or lower:
Nikola Jokic
Dinwiddie
Norman Powell
Gary Trent, Jr.
Jerami Grant
Bruce Brown
Isaiah Hartenstein
Monte Morris
Dillon Brooks
Daniel Gafford
Dwight Powell
Jordan Clarkson
Thomas Bryant
Jarred Vanderbilt
Terrance Mann
Pat Connaughton
Josh Richardson
Richaun Holmes
Scouting matters. If you have good ones, there are players to be stolen with the 37th pick.
