This is the type of deal we should do.

I’d definitely do that if it was available, I doubt Utah does

Ainge turned down Moody plus multiple first-round picks (almost certainly unprotected) and multiple pick swaps from the Warriors.

He's the league's most hardcore hardballer, even more so than Riley. By all accounts, he's got a strong propensity for just not making a deal at all with anyone if he doesn't find a deal that meets his terms.

His reputation was totally inflated by the Nets deciding to reverse course w no plan, and McHale giving him a gift. He’s certainly a good GM but take away those two deals and he’s just good.

It sure looks to me like AInge's desire to always win the trade grade has hurt his GMing. After inflating Lauri's value, he kind of has to hang onto him at this point. And I do think Lauri has gone from underrated to overrated.

He often holds onto assets for too long and lets opportunities pass by. Drove Celtics fans nuts.

In Lauri’s case he waited too long to get an amazing offer for him.

Which is fine and may mean Lauri doesn't or shouldn't happen for us. But the price we should be willing to pay shouldn't change just because Ainge wants more.
