No doubt, I don't know what he was thinking.

I posted My 'Det | ATL' deal on the Hawk's board to get a better idea of their thoughts because when I posted it on the trade board a bit back only 1 Atlanta fan posted a reply.

I am curious to see how it unfolds...

Actually Nocioni would be a perfect guy to bring off the bench (although at a big price tag). At his price he'd have to play starter minutes, backing up both Prince and Max.

He can play both the 3 and the 4.

Next year will most likely be Dice's last season with Detroit, and he could basically play a backup C role.

C:Sheed(32)/Dice(16)
PF:Max(32)/Noc(16)
SF:Prince(32)/Noc(16)
SG:Rip(32)/Afflalo(12)/Stuckey(4)
PG:Billups(32)/Stuckey(16)

That would be a very solid 9 man rotation.

Not sure how it would work with his BYC status, but we have Amir and expirings and possibly Afflalo who all have good positive trade value.

NWIH would I trade Amir for an overpayed backup like Nocioni, yuck. But then I love the possibilties that Amir has and don't like Nocioni so...

Say NO to NOcioni.

Noc plays hard, is tough, and is in my mind a "winner", but you also gotta remember he's a chucker. Flip loves his chuckers, and we don't need another perimeter pseudo-big man. We need a pounder, low post, tough guy. We need Maxiell + 3 inches + refined.

Not sure how we get that, though.

We can't. Which is why you settle for what you can get.

And don't overlook Nocionis HUGE playoff performances. Dude came up big time 2 years in a row.

Realistically we'd pretty much have to part with Maxiell to get him though. Chicago needs somebody w/ a post game and Nocioni would need the minutes at both SF & PF to justify that contract. And that just creates other holes for us, unfortunately.

I'd love to have the guy, but not very realistic either. Then again non of these scenarios are. The most plausible scenario involves us pretty much standing pat or perhaps making a minor move. Don't look for any major shakeups unless we go into a tailspin in the next 2-3 weeks.

I see potential for a Detroit, Chicago, and Memphis 3way.

Detroit gets Noc + cheap filler

Chicago gets Gasol + Hermann

Memphis gets Tyrus Thomas + Amir +Brezec(expiring)

Memphis would rather have Amir + cap room than Noc I think. Chicago starts Gasol between Ben and Deng. Detroit adds the final piece to its playoff rotation.

I'm actually a huge Nocioni fan, but how did he become the answer to the "too much penetration from the wing positions" problem? Prince is the better player of the two and I'm VERY hesitant to trade him unless you can get an even better defender/slasher at the 3. Nocioni is even slower than Prince and has a similar-ish offensive game (without as much posting up). Just don't see how he answers any problems.

with artests opt out,he may be just a rental. If we can just give Sacto a little bit to get him i would be all for it. Just give him the Randy Moss Patroits speech (this is your last chance, this is a great team, we can win with or without you)

Ahhhh, thats what the Bulls, Pacers, and Kings management failed to do, give him a speech.
