Udonis Haslem?

Post#1 » by Master Shake » Fri Feb 8, 2008 6:51 pm

The Heat just got Marion and Banks, Shaq's gone, they are rebuilding and could look to cut cap room for this summer.

I know we were rivals just a few months ago, and its pretty obvious both Detroit and Miami don't get along from the fans all the way to the players, and maybe even management. However, Haslem is available, but they aren't shopping him.

We could use a guy like Haslem, toughness, D, rebounding. We have expirings, draft picks, and some young players to get it done. Should we at least inquire about him?

Brezec, Hermann, and Maxiell for Haslem?

Well, at least we aren't Cleveland... seriously... Indians, Cavs, Browns... ouch.

I'm always jonesing for a trade but do we like him more than Max or Amir? I like Haslem but it looks like more of a lateral move, maybe slight improvement over Max.

I would have to say that at this point, Haslem is hands down the better player than Maxiell, a 3 big rotation of Haslem, Sheed, McDyess is pretty solid.

The difference is Maxiell can't bring that same effort every night, Haslem can. And Haslem is a proven commodidity whereas Maxiell is not.

If Dumars wanted Haslem, he would have to move Dice, maybe a three way? There is no way Dumars would move the young PF's for Haslem, when Joe D has made it clear that he's starting to garner pieces for the future.

I like Haslem's short-range shot, something Maxiell lacks. Is Haslem consistent in hitting it? Still, Haslem's game, as I would envision it for Detroit, would be no different than McDyess's game: rebound, defense and hit jump shots, with occasional post up.

I think they'd jump at the chance to get Max (a younger version of Haslem) and expiring contracts.

That said, I don't think it's a good move for Detroit.

Lets not forget it wasn't long ago we saw pictures of Haslem, Ricky Davis, young teenage girls, and alcohol in a hotel room.

That's right...almost forgot about that. No thanks anyway, I prefer Maxiell and want to see how he continues to develop. Max is a tough, hard worker and I wouldn't part with him at this point.

Yeah the last thing we need is someone on this team looking for love at a Hannah Montana concert.
