Murray will probably just be cut. We'll ask him if he wants to stick around with us as an emergency insurance policy, or try and play elsewhere to earn his next contract.
We'll keep that roster spot opened up to see if there are any veteran cuts we could be interested in. Or we could try out a NBDL all-star type if we so desired.

That speaks volumes to me. Herrmann is busting his ass and Flip just trusts Arvis over the new guy.
Herrmann is a restricted free agent and apparently he'll be our backup SF next year.
That also says to me that Joe plans on going big in the draft. No BPA, he's going for Hardin/Thompson/Jawai/Dorsey with #29 and the best wing available with #59.
2008-2009 Detroit Pistons
C. Billups/R. Stuckey
R. Hamilton/A. Afflalo
T. Prince/W. Herrmann
A. McDyess/J. Maxiell/A. Johnson
R. Wallace/#29 pick/C. Samb
It's quite a leap to say that becasue they're intrigued by him that they plan for him to be the backup SF next year. If the Pistons traded all their exspirings (Primo, Flip, ect...) except Hermann there might be something to that, but it appears no one is going to be moved. It doesn't sound like they're not making a trade because they don't want to give up Hermann, they just aren't going to make a trade period.
Saying that they're intrigued by him doesn't cost them anything so it really means nothing. Here's hoping the Pistons bench next year is better than what you have listed above. There's simply not enough scoring.

The trading deadline is less than 24 hours away, and the Detroit Pistons aren't close to making a deal. And despite Wednesday's 103-98 loss to Milwaukee, the team's second loss in as many days, that's unlikely to change. "I like what we have," said Saunders, referring to his roster. "There's no question, we're definitely more athletic than we've been in the past. We just have better balance."
For a number of years, the Pistons' starters have carried them throughout most of the season and into the playoffs, with the bench providing little more than a short break for the starters. However, this season's backups have provided much more than that.Although the second unit has struggled the past couple of games, there have been several games this season in which they made an immediate impact, either by scoring or with their hustle defensively.
One of the few standouts in Wednesday's loss was backup forward Amir Johnson, who had three points, six rebounds and was a big part of Detroit's fourth-quarter rally which trimmed Milwaukee's 19-point lead in the quarter down to three points."Our bench has been huge for us all season," said Pistons forward Antonio McDyess, a starter who spent his first three seasons as Detroit's top reserve. "The bench is different now because before, I was basically the only one who was really scoring. But now, you gotta worry about Jarvis (Hayes), Maxie, (Rodney) Stuckey ... teams have to prepare for a lot more players now when they get ready to play us, and that's a good thing."

If you read the article, they did discuss Dumars wanting to move Murray and Brezec. They said Dumars wants a 2nd for Murray but can't find a team with an open spot and the salary room to absorb Flip's contract without sending out salary.
They also stated that Dumars would trade Brezec, but the only piece he could get back would be another expiring bench guy who wouldn't see playing time so what was the point of just swapping spare parts.
Dumars wants to keep Lindsay for the playoffs and he wants to keep Herrmann for next year and doesn't want to move either of those two.
