I shuddered a while back and couldnt figure out why.

Turns out, somewhere in the world, someone was starting a thread seriously suggesting Antione Walker might be a worthy addition to the Pistons

Why do you like him? Fill us in?

Personally, I'd rather have Primoz Brezec than Walker.

I'm not a fan of him but now knowing he's hated so much I regret posting this :banghead:

But I just figured he's more athletic and fit since he's played this season.

Walker is the punkest fool in the league, right next to Ricky Davis. . . and Brezec.

The NBA's trade deadline passed without movement for Antoine Walker, an accomplished if aging veteran stuck on the rebuilding Minnesota Timberwolves without much opportunity for playing time.

The 31-year-old asked to be dealt to another team before the deadline last Thursday afternoon, but that didn't happen. So Walker has been hoping this week the Wolves will buyout his contract in time to allow him to clear waivers and join a playoff contender by Saturday. That would make him eligible for the postseason roster. "We're trying to figure out a number that's fair for both sides," Walker said Tuesday before Minnesota's game against the Utah Jazz.

Walker, who is making $8.5 million this season and is scheduled to draw $9.3 million next season, does not want to give up much of his guaranteed money. The Wolves have already coughed up millions to buy out Juwan Howard and Troy Hudson within the past year, however, and are not eager to do that again. Walker could be a valuable trade asset this summer, so holding onto him for now is more likely. "I'm not sure anything's going to happen or not," agent Mark Bartelstein said. "We'll see. We've had conversations. If we can't get something worked out, then he'll stay there."

I guarantee that the Wolves were trying to trade Walker, and not because he asked them too.

But you cant sell someone like that, not until he's an expiring contract.

Walker, team talk about buyout

Forward Antoine Walker still hopes he and the team can come to an agreement on a buyout that would allow him to clear waivers and join another team by March 1. "We're talking, both sides," Walker said. "We're trying to figure out a number that will work for both sides." Wolves owner Glen Taylor said negotiations have not gotten to the point where he would get involved. The issue, of course, is money. By comparison, when the Wolves bought out Juwan Howard at the end of October, he received $10 million of the $14-plus million he was owed for the final two seasons of his contract. "They know how to get it done," Taylor said. Walker was inactive for the third consecutive game.

He's more valuable to them as an expiring deal next season. I mean has boston not been paying attention to the Gasol trade, for one?
Rip Hamilton is a stain on the Pistons franchise.
