That's exactly my point. I wasn't predicting anything or comparing him to anyone. I think maybe you are inferring something from my post that wasn't really there.

I don't think I'm inferring anything, I just don't get how it applies unless AJ has had a history riddled with injuries. There are 2 basic groups that 'Good players gone wrong' fall into. The "talented player who never put it together" (ala Rodney White), and there is the "talented player whose career was shot by injuries". I don't think an ankle sprain causing him the pre-season puts AJ into the 2nd group.

I guess it's just that I've heard the comparison multiple times before as AJ's "worst case scenario", and I've never understood it.

Anyways, it doesn't really matter. Hopefully we won't be worrying about his "worst case scenario" 2-3 years from now

If you think I am suggesting it does apply then you ARE inferring something that was is not there, or at least was not intended. You are taking what was a very generic disclaimer that could have just as easily been applied to Tayshaun (who has never missed a game due to injury) as some sort of directed attack or criticism. You are arguing a point that I am not even disputing.

I don't know how to make this any more clear. I am NOT saying it applies to AJ. I am NOT comparing him to Bender or saying he has or will have a history of injury. In fact forget the fact I even mentioned Benders name, he is NOT important.

I could have just as easily said "For all we know he could be the next Shawn Kemp" or "the next Oliver Miller" and we have no reason to believe Amir is either a coke head or on the verge of eating his way to 500 lbs either. All I'm saying is there are no guarantees in life. That's all. Don't take it for more than it was intended to be.
