I doubt the Lakers do the trades posted above.

I posted this trade the other day in another thread on this board. If a trade goes down, it is a salary dump for the Lakers for probably Maxiel/Maggette/Bynum. But, I would hope for Maxiel or Maggette/Charlie V/Bynum straight up for Gasol and they may dump Duhon on the Pistons. But, Dudu's contract is only guaranteed for $1.5 mil next year.

Would Detroit have interest in Gasol?

I think a three-way can be worked out with Toronto-- we'd probably want CV's expiring plus other filler and one of your PGs and would send you one of our SFs or maybe even Ross-- with the Lakers taking Prince, Bargnani, and Calderon. I really love the assets you guys have, but I'm not sure if Gasol's the right move for your team.

The Lakers have apparently turned down the Raptors and Twolves. And want to wait and access their roster once Nash is healthy.

It's an open secret around the league, meanwhile, that Timberwolves general manager David Kahn has been trying since last season to acquire Gasol to join fellow Spaniard Ricky Rubio in a three-man core with All-Star forward Kevin Love, but sources say the Lakers continue to resist Minnesota's attempts to build a trade offer around 2011's No. 2 overall pick Derrick Williams and center Nikola Pekovic.

Stretch power forward Andrea Bargnani, veteran point guard Jose Calderon and fellow vet Linas Kleiza are among the players, sources say, whom the Raptors have discussed making available to the Lakers in a deal for Gasol.

FYI, to put some of these ideas in perspective. Although Broussard says Pau's trade value is falling

Nope, the Lakers are just waiting until Stern can get them Josh Smith.

Lol I don't doubt it, but it seems the Hawks aren't so interested now.

Lakers decline the Raptors offer of Bargnani/Calderon/Kleiza and Minnesota offer of Williams/Pekovic.

They're not going to take trash.

Probably so..I could see the T'Wolves, Hawks, and Lakers making a 3-team deal...

David Stern can make them interested.

it was David Stern who said his perfect finals matchup was "Lakers versus Lakers" while he was commisioner.

How about Charlie V for Hill and Blake? Even money, you guys get a solid backup to your young guys, open up playing time next year (34)/(34)/(28) min rotation. Blake plays well off of Stuckey off the bench. You guys include a small amount of cash to even the luxury tax money.

I don't believe either of these offers are true. Kahn has stated that no talks with the Lakers/Minny happened. Last time the Lakers and Wolves talked Mitchy wanted Kevin Love for Pau Gasol. I highly doubt Pau gets dealt. His value is way too low and Mitch thinks he is still a 20/10 value guy. Gasol is a aging 32 year old guy now. If the Raps offered that and the Lakers said no. They are the dumbest in history. Bargs is the perfect PF in the D-Antoni system. Calderon is the perfect back-up for Nash.

Those supposedly proposed trades could just be Lakers trying to build Gasol's trade value so they can make a run at Josh Smith or Ryan Anderson.

But, I noticed the Hornets are putting Anderson on a pedestal as he is playing really well for them right now.

Lakers would need a third team to make a deal work for Anderson. Only true deal straight up cap wise they could work for Anderson is Anderson and Gordon for Pau and ?. I also don't see a swap of Smith and Pau. Smith is a better player. I think the Lakers are stuck with Pau unless they take 60 to 80 cents on the dollar for him.

The Lakers need to get Josh Smith, forget Anderson and weak a** Bargnani...Look at this...

ATL gets: Perkovic, D.Williams, Hill, Barea, Ebanks
Minn gets: Gasol, Jenkins, Future Lakers 1st round Pick
LA gets: Smith, Harris

Don't give the "L.A. Sterns" any ideas!!!

Anyways, not sure if I would do that deal if I was Minny as I like Pekovic as he has much upside.

^As much as I see Minnesota's name when Gasol's involved in a trade rumors, I wouldn't be surprised if they gave Perkovic up...

Return to Detroit Pistons
