Phoenix is in trouble
Beasley's value is lower than his Minny days.
Many are saying Phoenix might just end up waiving him.
He is owed 6 M next year and 3M the year after.
Gortat has also repeatedly asked to be traded. He is owed about 7.5 this year and next.
Joe D has plenty of moveable assets and can easily grab both these players and take a flyer on Wes Johnson.
Pistons Trade:
Charlie V, Maxiell, Daye, Bynum
Suns Trade:
Beasley, Gortat, Johnson
Suns trade one unproductive young player for another (Johnson for Daye). They get to trade their malcontent center for Maxiell and Bynum, two decent bench players, both on expiring contracts. Finally they swap the 9M owed to Beasley over the next 2 years and exchange that for Charlie V, who is expiring next year. This saves the organization money, gives them players that they can actually use, and rid them of Beasley.
Pistons trade Charlie V's bad contract for Beasley's and if Beasley doesnt work out they can easily waive him as he is only owed 3 M the following year. The big catch here is Gortat. Finding a quality center under 10M is rare and thats why I dont mind throwing in Max and Bynum into this deal. Gortat will be a great stop gap as Drummond rounds into form. When his contract expires we can sign him to come off the bench behind Andre. Gortat is a hustle player, scores, and can rebound like a machine. He will do great in Detroit and I think the fans will love him. We beef our bench up with Johnson/Beasley even if they are struggling they are still miles ahead of Maggette, English, Middleton, or Bynum. We dont need Johnson to score just play solid D next to Stuckey. Beasley/Stuckey/Drummond should make a nice trio off the bench.
Knight / Stuckey
Singler / Johnson / English
Prince / Beasley / Maggette
Monroe / Jerebko
Gortat / Drummond
Pistons / Suns

Re: Pistons / Suns
Phoenix is not giving Gortat away, he has attitude issues but still he is a legit 7 footer and on a very good contract. those players are worth a lot.
Beasley could probably be had by CV but honestly, I'd rather have CV than Beasley at this point.

I think it would take more, But I'd throw in JJ instead of CV to get it done.

Re: Pistons / Suns
I dont see anyone offering anything better than CV for Beasley, if we trade Jerebko instead of CV I really cant see Phoenix turning it down. They are in a bad spot and everyone can see that. They are going to have to settle with what they can get.
Im down for throwing in Jerebko, English, Middleton instead of CV. Then we really cut the glut from our bench and can even sign Big Ben.
Knight / Stuckey
Singler / Johnson
Prince / Beasley / Maggette
Monroe / CV
Gortat / Drummond / Wallace

Heck yeah, I would offer Charlie V for Beasley...I agree with sfballa too, I would gut our bench and offer Jonas, Middleton, and probably Singler for Beasley...I think our young core of Knight, Monroe, Drummond, and Stuckey would push Beasley to become a better overall player...

Re: Pistons / Suns
Not to derail this thread....but I think this would be best worked into a 3-way deal with adding a team like OKC.
Main part of the deal:
OKC gets Gortat (Pho)
We get Beasley (Pho) and Lamb (OKC)
Phoenix gets cap space and young assets (English and/or Daye) from us.

Re: Pistons / Suns
Phoenix is not going to give up Gortat.
Beasley is almost on his way out the league. The talent is there, but concern is what's going on in dude's noggin. I hope he turns things around. The problem is: when you prove to be a problem make sure you are competing at a high level. If you do not, the league is not going to put up with you for long.
