Detroit trades - magette, stuckey, 2nd
Sacremento trades - evans, thompson, salmons
Detroit wins talent-wise. They get the opportunity to match offers for Evans. He has under performed since rookie year and a change of scenery. He can play multiple positions as either super 6th man or starter at the 2 or 3. Thompson fills Maxiell's role after next year. Salmons is a vet at sf/sg who can shoot.
Sacremento is in the process of being sold and sheds a lot of longer term salary. Stuckey could benefit from a change of scenery as well. Salary reduction is primary motivation here.

They may be allowed to make a deal if it reduces long term salary... not sure I'd do that deal...Evans could walk this summer making it risky... I think we can do better with our free cap next year vs blowing it on mediocre players (Thompson & Salmons)

Dude, I'd so hit it.
No, we're just trading 2 crappy players and a crappy pick for 3 crappy players. Yea, I want Stuck to have value, but that just means that deep down I know he doesn't.* And uck Evans. Ugh.
But, yea, not hating. I make trade ideas like yours all the time.

Re: would you do this?
coolness - you probably hit it spot on.
I was figuring Thompson is a taller, slightly younger version of Max/slightly better rebounder. (Goal was to help rebounding but not break the bank - capspace will be used on someone and who else would I want to use it on for a 3rd big?)
With Evans I was figuring he is slightly bigger than Stuckey and might be able to handle the SF position a bit better. Maybe a slightly more versatile version of Stuckey.
Salmons is the price we pay for the "slight" upgrades. In reality we probably wouldn't want to take on that much future salary unless it is a very clear upgrade. This is the type of trade I see us doing, upgrading for taking on future salary. Not sure what other players that are semi-young that could potentially be available.
