Ever see Airplane? That little boy sums up why KAJ doesn't get his due among basketball guys. He didn't try. Didn't try when he was in Milwaukee, essentially quit on them, didn't try when he was in LA until he got Magic Johnson. Alienated teammates when he was in Milwaukee as he didn't like playing there. Teammates in LA felt uncomfortable playing with him.
He was one of the most talented players playing in one of the worst decades for basketball and he did nothing to make himself a proper great. I have him as a great player from 4th to 7th, but not number one for a reason.
To sum it up, Kareem had a great career but it was also disappointing.
Simply, I don't want Kareem near the Pistons.

Everyone in the Pistons org will tell you that Laimbeer is an ass, our ass but still. The guy nearly ran me over when he was coaching the Shock.
Rick Mahorn on the other hand, for his rep, is one of the nicest and funniest people I've ever met. Conversations with him always have me laughing.
'Yes, man is mortal, but that would be only half the trouble. The worst of it is that he's sometimes unexpectedly mortal - there's the trick!'
