The problem is we are a bad team. Anything we can do to improve the team, we should explore. Monroe/Drummond are not problems....Mo Williams was not a "problem" for the Clippers, and yet the replaced him with a better player to improve their team.

That is the goal, to improve the team. Yes Singler/Max are not starters in this league, and Jerebko shouldn't even playing but that doesn't mean we shouldn't look at other options to improve the team.

Goldtop has brought up some good points as far as Moose shrinking from the moment, struggling against more athletic guys and being a liability defensively. Cousins is more talented...that's undeniable.

^Thats my feelings exactly. The goal is for the team to win championships. Its not about being loyal to individual players. If there is a chance to improve a position that could be a better fit and result in more wins, you have to explore it.

If there was a Center out there better than Drummond and was available, you'd have to consider that too. Thats the reality when you are a lottery team for 4 yrs straight. If we were a winning team and everything was working, then I'd understand being hesitant to make drastic changes, but when you win 24 games no one is untouchable.

The only reason Drummond is considering untouchable is because there's honestly no other Center in the league thatis worth trading him for. If you can't say that about a player, then they are tradeable. There's a lot of bigs I'd rather have over Monroe, so he's definitely moveable, imo.

Monroe is moveable and is probably the fastest route to success

His value is extremely high and teams always like to build around big men

A sign and trade with Atlanta for Josh Smith would be nice... gives Smith the maximum and gives Atlanta reasonable value for a guy they may or may not want to keep

We'd still have the same problems we'd have today though

The other option is to trade Monroe for a swingman or PG and build around that player and Drummond.

With the amount of cap space we have a sign and trade is completely pointless. It's also pointless from Smith's perspective. Under the new CBA he'd get the same type of contract in a sign and trade as he would get signing out right.

idk if it would be possible but if we could somehow trade Moose in a package for Horford, I think that would be the most ideal trade of all.

He's one of the few PFs today who have a consistent jumpshot and play defense.

We have no reason, NONE, to do a Monroe/Josh Smith S&T deal.

1) We have the cap space to sign Smith outright if we wanted to
2) If a S&T deal was necessary - for some reason - we wouldn't offer Monroe. We'd likely offer some future 1st or two and a TPE (ala LeBron and Bosh deals)....or CV/Stuckey, or CV/Singler. Bottomline: no reason for us to try and match Smith's value, its not quite how S&T deals work. We would just have to give ATL something to somewhat suffice their fans so they can say, at least we got something...

And if we got Smith, we'd likely be best served to look to trade Monroe elsewhere for some young wings.

And no, Monroe/Drummond is not the biggest issue now. But it also doesn't mean Monroe/Drummond is a good pairing.

Add Nerlens Noel to that and we'll be set. We'll have what no other team has at the 4/5. :D

The stuff about Cousins, who is clearly volatile, bugs me. I do not want him here. There are certain players I just don't like. My dislike is stronger than my like in a way. I can handle that Tim Duncan doesn't play for us and that Tay got traded, but I will be hospitalized if Cousins or a certain few others from around the league came to Detroit.

It's more than just him being volitalie.... he's an idiot. That's the biggest problem. I can handle a guy who's talented, who plays with emotion and passion that sometimes gets the best of him. Cousins just seems legitimately stupid.

the Josh Smith stuff kills me, I used to think guys were kidding about the Smith thing. Now I realize guys are serious lol

Josh Smith is 87-305 from mid range this season

Let that sink in for a second.

Didn't expect it to be THAT bad. The weird thing is that most of his shots are open and his form looks decent albeit too mechanical and not as natural. Anyone know Moose's percentage on mid range Js?

He would've had 20 rebs if he got to finish the game, and we probably win because of it. :-?

I'm happy we lost - we need to lose as many games as possible

My drama is the fact we aren't playing Middleton and English enough.

Those 2 guys have potential and we need to see what they can do. Play them and give Singler a rest. He's played plenty of minutes this season...

a Monroe "Hater" at this point is really just an uniformed casual fan.

There is little to "hate" about Greg Monroe.
