If Dwight Howard was hurt he wouldnt even have sniffed the playoffs any of those years, NM took Portland teams to the playoffs with a broken Roy/no Roy & no Oden.

Youre right, not even a comparison.

lol, so because he made the playoffs with bums and lost in the 1st round it means we should hire him?

You're right without Dwight SVG would'nt have been as good, but at least it shows if he has talent he can succeed. And we have talent with Drummond and Monroe. So we shouldn't be concerned about how good a coach is with no talent. We need to know what they can do WITH talent, because its not always guaranteed -- ie Brown/Dantoni in LA - that they can win with talent. And there's no proof that McMillan wouldn't be in that same category.

They need to go with a sure thing. Someone who has had proven playoff success coaching great big men. The Pistons can't afford to gamble and have to fire another failed coach in 2 yrs. And btw, despite no Roy/Oden, McMillan still had LaMarcus Aldridge, who is arguably the best PF in the league, and the best he could do was lose in the 1st round. Not interested in that guy at all.

I heard this as well. This is from CSN Philly
Collins will stay on in the organization as Joshua Harris’ personal advisor for the next five years.

Edit: Also says this in the article
“He is a proud father, and at the end of the day, he wants to spend more time with his family,” Harris continued. “We all know Doug and love Doug. He is a 24/7, 100-mile-an-hour guy and that is something I can really appreciate. He doesn’t want to coach anywhere next season.”

I think we should take Collins off the list (if he was ever on it)

I agree. We need to start winning and establish some consistency and stability within the franchise. Not only because Pistons fans need winning basketball again but because we need to give our guys a reason to stay here once they're off their rookie deals, if we have another season with no improvement and another mid lottery pick why would Moose want to stay? Most of all I've had another of **** basketball and I want to see some improvement in the wins column just like we were all hoping for this season.
