So if Frank is such a great coach, and would succeed if he only had the talent....How come he's never considered for any jobs that DO have talent?

You won't hear about the Lakers looking at Frank, if they decide to fire Dantoni. Will the Nets be bringing Frank back, now that they have talent in place? I doubt it.

There must be a reason no team with talent is interested in him. The moment the Pistons knew they were about to add talent, they fired him. Its because he's not a good coach. He's the coach you put in place when you know you have no chance of winning a championship, and just need someone cheap to babysit for a few years.

Maybe because the teams that do have talent, typically don't have a head coach openings.

I never said Frank was a great coach either. Popavich and Phil are great coaches. You could even argue Phil rode his great players. He has 11 rings because he had the luxery of coaching 2 GOATS with stacked teams. Kobe has even said to try and justify hirng Dantoni that the whole time hes had Phil as a coach, not one time did they run defensive drills under him. I just think too often coaches get scapegoat when the GMs don't do enough to the get the talent on the team.

Not a bad read. I don't know enough about him to really form an opinion, but I like the fact that he is looking for ways to become a better coach and is focused on getting another head coaching opportunity.

McMillan is better than any coach the Pistons are qualified to get based on their recent track record with everything. Success is all relative. It's not like he's under-achieved. At some point all coaches words fall on deaf ears. I don't believe Monroe fits with McMillan though...which is fine with me.

What exactly does that mean?

Wins/Losses?

because we pay coaches for 3 years and fire them after 2?

If anything Detroits a perfect opportunity for a coach to prove he has what it takes to win coaching a nba team. We have 2 young promising big man, 20+mil in capspace for new personnel. A new coach could mold his team

So then he's average? If we are hiring Mcmillan to be average, then it better be a 2 year contract because our Owner and us fans aren't going to tolerate a boring average team.
