I voted yes/yes. I think Shabazz is the best player in the draft and I'm really glad everyone projects him to fall. Lethal scorer.

I voted no/no or hell no!

Why waste your 8th pick on a one dimensional 24th pick, it make no sense at all. The Pistons can draft Zellar with the 8th pick and trade their two 2nd picks for a late first round pick. Which they can use on Glen Rice, Tim Hardaway, Tony Snell or Reggie Bullock.

I would be shocked if he become a 1st option caliber player on a championship team, although that question is a bit deceiving. Paul George leads the Pacers in scoring on a team with a chance to make it to the Finals presently, but that team is well rounded.

Out of curiosity, what do you see Shabazz averaging in his prime?

25/5/3 46% FG/40% 3pt.

I see us playing an inside out game where he ends up being the 2nd option and Monroe/Dre split the first.

Paul Pierce-esque numbers. That would easily make him the best player from this draft. That would be incredible.

That's really who I see him as. They are the same size as well.

Piston Pete wrote:I've wavered back and forth on Bazz. Currently, I do not want him. I see him as a taller version of Ben Gordon, a 1-diensional scorer, and only a scorer.

He's Ben Gordon on steroids with less range but a better post-up game.

"Ben Gordon on steroids with less range but a better post up game" does not sound at all like a BG. Sounds more like Kobe (not that I would even compare the two.)

James Harden numbers if he can majorly improve his ball handling which is all he is working on now.

He will probably never be the assist man Harden is but Harden cant score on the block, Shabazz can right now & truthfully i'd take post scoring/easy buckets over an extra 3 or 4 assists from my 2 guard.

interesting, so its a pretty solid majority in the Bazz camp. I see where the yes/yessers are coming from, I dont necessarily agree, but if you think hes a go-to scorer on a contender you have to take him, baggage or not.

im curious what role the yes/no people see him playing for the team? imho Bazz is an alpha, hes going to try to assert himself as a 1/2 option, and if hes not good enough to pull it off hes probably going to hurt the team more than he helps (the Corey Maggette effect). I think anybody drafting him with the hopes that he can morph himself into a Harrison Barnes type role player is going to be dissapointed because thats not what he was raised to be.

i voted yes/no.

I don't think he's going to be "the guy", but he can still contribute to a team IMO.

^if we had a more established team and a legitimate coach to help keep him reined in, similar to Indiana with Lance Stephenson, i might be a little more receptive to Bazz, but as we sit I dont think we're the right place for him.

I really have zero clue. It's a lot harder to evaluate prospects when they do not have superstar level physical gifts.
