Agreed. Gilbert was an idiot for burning that bridge. It's possible to reconcile, I suppose, but he made any chance of LeBron coming back slimmer. And I don't think they were great to begin with.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

I know Cleveland is his home & he wants so badly to bring a title there but what Dan Gilbert did can't be accepted.

The way Lebron left was a disgrace. He led the organization and all of his fans to believe that he was going to stay with the Cavs. Not only did he let them down but he did it in a very public manner "The Decision", and didn't even give the Cavs the opportunity to do a sign and trade. You can't blame Gilbert for his response.

I think Lebron has since realized how much he screwed the city that he was a product of and knows that he doesn't need that much support anymore to get to the finals. Bottom line is I think he wants to close old wounds, rebuild the bridge, and bring a championship or 5 to CLE..

Hell no, Lebron was an amazing leader & gave that ball club 2 full contracts to even put 1/500th of a team around him & they never did. He NEVER led them to believe he was staying, thats 100% inaccurate.

He took Boobie Gibson & Sasha Povlovivh to the Finals lol

The decision was a mistake, we all make mistakes. He has admitted so. Dan Gilbert's open letter was pathetic & a disgrace & showed how big of a scum bag Gilbert truly is. I wish him nothing but the worst, hes one of the crappy owners that make the good one's more appreciated.

& be clear, i'm the furthest thing from a Lebron fan, I'm a Piston fan, he ripped out my heart but I appreciate greatness & he is greatness. To say he is a product of Cleveland is hilarious.
Saying Lebron screwed the city is literally the dumbest thing i've ever heard.
