Assuming that Drummond and Monroe will develop as well a we believe they will, and knight our KCP our Middleton Singler our several of these guys show they can be fine players, as I believe they will, then the Pistons will become a much higher priority team for the better free agents.
I think the team just really needs to be smart now not overspend build this carefully.
I'm just not seeing any obvious gets in free agency for our team right now. the guys that are available want so much money and are not great fits with the roster that we have. I think we should be doing is making sure that we retain flexibility for teases at the trade deadline into the summer of 2014

Re: More important to spend wisely rather than spend a lot
I'll clarify my definition of wisely - using it on long terms pieces, using it as part of a 4 year plan and not a quick fix that traps our cap flexibility like CV and BG did.
So does a max contract on Iggy for 4 years make sense? Nope. Same for Josh Smith. If we could get either player for about half of max, sure, but that isn't going to happen.
I'd still like us to trade/sign a SF this year, but not overspend. But we will get incrementally better by having Drummond healthy, Knight a year wiser (hopefully he learned something from Calderon), and KCP stepping into a starting SG (he should be our best shooter on Day 1). And I think that will be enough to get us into the playoffs, and maybe a few more fans back in the Palace.

Wilson Chandler it is then. If Iggy signs with Denver again and Joe can't even pry Chandler away from them in some sort of way, there's no hope for this man. Get it done.
Detroit vs Everybody by way of Belgium.

Yeah if you can't make someone desperate who has no reason to be desperate, then something is wrong with you.
