I'd pull the trigger on both deals in the OP, not sure if Toronto and Orlando would though.

I really like Barnes and would take on all kinds of crap for him but I doubt that Dwight will go to GS.

Would be shocked if GS would deal Barnes just for expirings. If they want to sign Dwight, I think they would look to shop Bogut cheap. Why pay 2 starting centers? Barnes is on a rookie contract and has a lot of potential. He played well in the playoffs.

Iggy/Green/Granger/Chandler/Gay...sign/trade for one of them.

The reason people are bringing up Barnes' name is because GS reportedly told the Lakers they would send him back in a S&T deal for Dwight. They'd probably send back Barnes, Bogut and maybe RJ.

I'm a piston fan living in nor cal. They are talking about Thompson or Barnes and bogut for Dwight. La had said no to sign and trades but we ll see where that ends up. If Detroit can facilitate and snag Barnes or Thompson somehow that'd be crazy. Not happening cause they are the juice of the deal for la. But we will see once Dwight comes with a decision Friday moving foward.

SF Harrison Barnes
C Andris Biedrins
SF Richard Jefferson
2014 pick

for

SF/PF Jonas Jerebko
C Slava Kravtsov

Works on the trade checker and frees up about $16 million for GS INSTANTLY. They get Dwight withough having to deal with the Lakers at all.

We get Barnes, a 2014 pick, and have MAX cap space again next season. We tank and get a top-8 pick of our own....then Stuckey, Jefferson, CV, and Beans all expire.

^That is something that actually looks pretty realistic and something I would consider. Jefferson is a decent vet, and Barnes is legit. It's a lot of salary to take back, but getting Barnes and a pick whilst not giving up much is worth it.

They have to free up approx $32 million to get for enough under the cap to offer Dwight a max deal. That basically means shedding their 3 big expiring deals (Bogut, Biedrins and Jefferson).

If we had waived Stuckey, we could have amnestied CV to facilitate a deal without needing any other teams.

The best we can do now is probably the trade I originally proposed. Absorb the 2 least desirable expirings (Jefferson and Biedrins) and get Barnes. They would have to find another team to take Bogut. It may make sense for Atlanta, although they would have to swallow their pride and admit they are not getting Dwight.

I'm also out in the NorCal area and GS is very high on Barnes. The only way he gets traded if he is required to get Howard. Otherwise, not a chance. I do think GS is leary about Bogut's long term health, and would be happy to get Howard, but I don't think much is going to change this year for GS. I'm pretty sure Howard is going to Houston or staying with the Lakers, and GS is going to look pretty much like they did this past season.

Would GS consider Jerebko/Kravtsov for Beans?

They get the talent upgrade while we get an expiring.

why??? what good is that? using up all our space this year to be an 8th/9th pick in the draft again..? is that really worth it? we have all this space to try and get better now, lets go for it!
