Sure, we'll give you your pick of Stuckey, DNP-CV and a Calderon S&T for Jeff Green. Otherwise, you can go play armchair GM elsewhere.

Says the armchair GM

True. But, I don't invade other teams forums and try to sell them on our garbage players. Not implying that Rondo is garbage, but Detroit has a lot of garbage.

Basically, I'm not going to go around soliciting my biased opinion to those who could care less to hear it. *wink *wink.

Lol....

U think I'm a Boston fan? I'm not loyal to any one forum. Just an NBA fan with a "little" green in me.

I'll leave your high and mighty board. Not trying to sell u on anything.

No thanks to Rondo and Green or whatever the clusterfluck that it's going to take to land those two. It's out of Dumar's head to go against a firesale.

Do you want to win now and have quite a long window for that winning or do you care about an individual players success? Is that player so good that you'll start winning without other great players (LeBron, Shaq, Duncan, etc). I'm not saying championship level winning, but 50 games a year. I don't think Drummund is that good.

Believe it or not Boston went through this with Al Jefferson before the KG trade. Hindsight is 20/20 of course and they know now that it was the right move, but it was a hot debate at the time. Remember KG was 31 at the time.

This brings me back to the S5 of;

Rondo
KCP
Green
JSmooth
Monroe

Ages - 27, 20, 26, 27, 23

Smith would be locked up

Rondo would sign long term deal because of Smith

KCP is on rookie deal

Green's locked up for 3 years

Sign Monroe to a non Max deal which should be very possible

That's an amazing team for easily the next 5 years!

Drummond unfortunately doesn't fit with this team. With Rondo and Smith you'd have to keep Monroe IMO.

With that being said I think the Celtics should take the above deal I proposed with either player (Monroe/Drummund).

I "think" you should pay attention and realize that Drummond already has a greater defensive impact than anybody on both rosters by a great deal. That's NOW. While you look at Monroe and see he can put up better offense and consider him win now, his defense as an anchor ain't win now. It would take longer for him to develop as great a defensive impact as Drummond would to develop as great an offensive impacr. By year 3, and still on his rookie contract, Drummond very well could be putting up 15-16 ppg like Moose. But Moose will likely NEVER have Drummond's defensive impact and will be on a $12+ million/year salary in one more year. So common sense once again dictates if you had to choose one, you choose Drummond. Luckily we have both.

I don't see anything wrong with his proposals. He's offering his 2 best players (Rondo/Green) for our 2nd and 3rd best players (Monroe/Knight). If anything thats a steal for us. Rondo-Monroe is equal deal and Green is a way better player than Knight. Not sure what you're smoking.

You must have missed his posts about why we should give up and trade Drummond while he still has value.

I'd be all over some kind of Rondo for Monroe deal if we can make it work. Greg is one of the most over-rated players in the league, and doesnt compliment Drummond at all.

Rondo + Green for Knight + Monroe would be solid for us.... As long as we then also sign Josh Smith + another solid big man to come off the bench.

Monroe is a very skilled big man who is going to put up 18 and 10 for the next half decade but at the same time I'm not sure he has that killer instinct to really be a difference maker on a championship caliber team. He's not a number one option type guy. The biggest factor perhaps is right now Monroe has very good value but two years from now as a Max salary guy he might have almost no value if he doesn't improve from where he was at this year.

Rondo is a proven all-star and Green is still young, but experienced and able to guard bigger small forwards like Lebron, Melo, and Pierce with his size. Green isn't a great player but he is very solid.
