Couple things i took from the interview:


Josh Smith fire/attitude excites and worries me at the same time. He's the type of player who's attitude is going to carry us to wins, or destroy us when we lose. If Mo cheeks is as good of a ppl person as his rep, i think he can control him. I think guys like josh respect guys that have earned their stripes, like Joe and Mo, and even sheed, which i hope would help

Its funny how i have heard "high character" individuals for the past 3 years, and haven't heard it at all this year. Josh Smith looks and talks like he doesn't take sh*, Rasheed-esk.

Josh smith's departure from ATL wasn't pleasant. it seems he feels like he wasted his youth on ATL.

Yeah, its readily apparent that Smith was NOT part of the Hawks long term plans, and the Hawks were not part of his long term plans.

Hopefully his career in Detroit is what he hopes it will be.

Josh Smith is from Georgia so anything he says about ATL is coming from the heart of a local boy who's tired of being on a Sh*t franchise and in a Sh*t sports town.


He wanted a change of scenery and Detroit is the place. Not everyone is an attention whore and likes the glitz and glam. 13.5/14Mill is not much more than anyone else would have offered and that was the price we heard about him from day 1 and most of us were thinking 15-16Mill. No one was offering less than 13 I would bet on that.
