Fanboy Trade - Detroit and Charlotte

Post#1 » by Kilo » Thu Jul 11, 2013 2:33 pm

Detroit trades -

G Rodney Stuckey
SF Kyle Singler
SG Kim English (after we guarantee his second year)

to the Charlotte Bob Cats for -

S&T G/F Gerald Henderson (Signed to a $22.5M contract over three years)
2014 Charlotte Second Round Pick
Future Charlotte Second Rounder

We become -

Brandon Knight|Chauncey Billups|Will Bynum
Gerald Henderson|Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
Josh Smith|Khris Middleton|Luigi Detome
Greg Monroe|Charlie Villanueva|Jonas Jerebko|Tony Mitchell
Greg Drummond|Slava Kratvsov

That would be 14 players, now we could sign Siva to be our 4th PG, or use the 15th spot to bring in a depth center with Siva signing elsewhere or agreeing to play in Europe for a year or two.

Billups could play some 2-guard, as could Knight. Henderson could play some SF. Smith could play PF, Mitchell could play some SF. Monroe also backs up Drummond at center.

We can do better. Henderson isn't a good fit with the team, we need to find a Danny Green type of guy.

I think he's a solid enough fit. He could start for us at the 2-guard and make Pope earn his minutes.

Henderson's post all-star numbers last season -

18.9 points on 46% shooting
4.0 rebounds
3.4 assists
1.0 steals
0.6 blocks

He's not a three point bomber, but either was Rip. It's a part of his game he could certainly look to add. Hendo's bread and butter is his mid-range game - that still pulls his guard out away from the basket.

NO way I want Henderson. I'll pass sorry. No need to sign him to so much. Rather have a stop gap SG to play till KCP is ready to take over.

No interest in Harry and the Henderson.

Definitely not worth a size able contract like that.

But once KCP does take over Henderson is a solid 6th man.... I want a proven young AS.

Yes please. That kid is balling lately. I'd like it 4-6 a year. He's the kind if talent you don't just say no to. I think our need for 3 point shooters is over stressed. We just need scorers. Chauncey can teach people that silky smooth 3. Knight and Henderson is a new billups and rip.

Charlotte is looking at sign and trade possibilities but they want a 1st round pick and a really good 3pt shooter for him not 3 below average players and they dont want to trade any picks

I'd be okay with this even though English has played like hot garbage this SL. I don't like Stuckey enough to send a 2nd rounder back though, no offense.

We need a backup center, do you think the thunder would do stuckey and slava for perkins? He hasnt really done much in okc but hes a good defender and would be a solid backup and they just lost kevin martin and might want a sg.

The seconds were for Singler, so I'd be fine taking both out. If you didn't want English, you wouldn't need him here, he was a throw in since you seemed to have roster space and he's probably worth a flyer if you got the bench space - he's a smart hard working dude - a future head coach or tv analyst type. He wouldn't need to be included to make the salaries match or anything as Stuckey is making $8.5M this year (expiring), and I wouldn't pay Henderson that much even. I was doing Kim a solid by getting him another guaranteed year at the 'Cats expense.

Has he been that bad? I don't really watch okc that much.

Singler on his contact is a better fit for us than Hendo on that contract.
