Reggie Jackson...our perfect 3rd guard

With the recent signing of Chauncey and the hiring of Cheeks, I think whoever our young guards are, will learn a ton from this duo. According to Thunder fans, Lamb is the heir to the Harden role, meaning Jackson will be a backup for the short term.

Our current PGs are Knight, Siva, Bynum, Chauncey. It might seem like a glut there but Bynum is best served in the insurance role, Chauncey is good for 15mpg max, and Siva is just a Rookie. When it's all said and done, we're going to need another ball handler who can play both back court spots to go along with our core. Enter Reggie Jackson.

He's 6'3 with a 7' wingspan meaning defensively he can matchup very well and play with both Knight and KCP.

The thunder just received a trade exception and they need to bolster their bench.

Would this work: Jonas, Singler, Stuckey for Jackson.

He had a couple nice games in the playoffs. I won't give him any credit for the summer league game, he's entering his third season, playing against a couple rookies and guys who won't even be on a regular season roster.

It's a toss up really. Is he really a world apart better than Stuckey? They're both athletic combo guards who aren't particularly good shooters.

The only clear benefit of that trade is opening up some roster spots. Jackson might be a nice bench piece, but I don't believe he's any kind of lock.

The Thunder are going to use Jackson in a Harden-esque role next year. He's basically their 6th man, especially with Martin gone. No way they trade him to us without us giving anything of value in return.

And from what I've seen, Thunder fans think Jackson is going to be a Harden type player, not Lamb. Maybe before the playoffs last year did Thunder fans bank on Lamb meeting potential, but after the playoffs, they realize that Jackson isn't potential, he's already the real deal.

Stuckey sucks. Any gamble that is affordable is worth more than him

We've all soured on him, and for good reason.

But, with a new coaching staff, that includes Sheed and Billups now in the locker room, I don't see his pouty attitude flying anymore. Additionally, he's playing for a contract this year, which should make him doubly motivated.

As David Mayo mentioned on MLive, marginal players that feel safe tend to play poorly. Put them on the block, like Stuckey and Villanueva are now, and you traditionally get more from them.

I'm not a huge fan of Stuckey. I wouldn't bat an eye if he was traded. But, if he's still here when the season rolls around, I don't believe it will be the worst thing in the world.

There's no guarantee that Jackson is better than Stuckey, but he's as good a prospect now as Stuck ever was so he's not going anywhere, especially not for our trio of not-expensive-but-still-overpaid guys. Jackson played really well in the playoffs last year, PER over 15, showed he can get his own shot and play with the big boys. Who knows how he develops from here-- remember when Joe was convinced Stuckey would make us forget about Chauncey?-- but he's got good potential now and he seems like he's climbing higher every day. Plus he makes the NBA equivalent of peanuts for the next two years.

I'm almost tempted to post this trade to the okc board just to see what kind of creative ways to say 'f*ck off' they come up with.

Jackson is nice but I think the Thunder need him more with Martin heading to the Wolves. I thought Martin would have been a good fit here. I think we need to look elsewhere.
