Drummond+Pope for Rondo+ Jeff Green...does Dumars say yes?

Moderators: dVs33, Cowology, theBigLip, Snakebites

Would Dumars say yes to a Drummond+Pope for Rondo+Green trade?

Yes- he'd have to pull the trigger on a deal like this. Makes Pistons instant contenders.

No- Rondo and Green are overrated and aren't making the Pistons contenders

Not sure- Drummond and Pope have serious potential but that's all it is at the moment. It's risky but I can see the upside.

No- I'm not trading Drummond for Rondo under any circumstances.

Yes- we are trading potential for a top 5 point guard and a rapidly improving starting small forward who can guard the East's elite small forwards.

Adding Rondo and Green might help us win games in the short term but hurts us long term as a franchise.

I can't help but believe that any mention of Drummond in the discussion of Rondo trades is a result of wishful thinking by Celtics fans. Because that's what it is -- wishful thinking.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Phoenix end up with Rondo.

McDonough was apparently the guy who pushed for the Celtics to draft him.

They have a huge expiring contract in Gortat.... and a stockpile of picks

They also have some youth that they could include in the package (Marshall, Morris Twins)

Suns would then build around Rondo, Bledsoe and Len...

Or Indiana could go all in.... Granger + Stephenson for Rondo and some parts...Granger the expiring, Stephenson the young talent Ainge might want (and who the Pacers likely can't afford to pay market value)

Pacers have to keep Paul George... and after giving large contract to Hibbert and West, plus locking up Hill they will be forced to make some moves.

They just blowed all their cap space and gave up a good player in order to acquire Bledsoe 0.o. What would they do with Bledsoe, Dragic and Rondo?

I've been watching the NBA for 40+ years, and I've seen one Drummond. The combination of size, speed, and raw athletic skill is really, really, rare. The most talented/interesting Piston since Isaiah Thomas. In Dre, I'm looking at a guy the size of Shaq who can switch on the perimeter - what?!?!? I know there is downside risk in Dre's development, but trading him to be second round fodder is nuts.

The Pistons are Drummond's franchise

Well, that's 79 votes in favor of declining this trade, with 75 in favor of not trading Dre period. On a board where literally everyone gets trade threads, this should make it pretty clear to fans of other teams that Drummond is untradeable...it is EXTREMELY rare for a board to unanimously vote against trading a player.

and on that note I am going to lock this thread before any Boston fans show up and corrupt the poll any further than the 1 that voted not sure.
