For what it's worth, he tore it up here. I know some people find these things interesting.

Anytime your 10th-11th man goes off for 50 anywhere, I think its a positive. It speaks to the quality of our depth, in terms of pure talent. At only 2.5 million per year that was probably a smart move by Joe bringing him back. You can always use an extra veteran scorer off the bench, and he has solid trade value at the least. Even if we don't need him at all, he could be a piece that fetches a different role player that we do need.

If our back-up guard likes lob passes, that's a good thing. We should have a thread stuck, by the mods, that we keep track of how many lob's(successful ones)this team gets this year.Q00 wrote:Anytime your 10th-11th man goes off for 50 anywhere, I think its a positive. I'm serious. It could become a fun thing to participate in. Matter of fact, it needs to happen.
YEAR OF THE LOB.

Nate who? Bynum doesnt need to jump and dance around like a thug to get his points in. I take classy Bynum anyday over Nate.

Need to combine it with Blocks as well and roll with... 'Year of the BLOB'.

Sounds great. I'm really interested in seeing how many damn lobs get completed this year.r0cd0gg wrote:zeebneeb wrote:If our back-up guard likes lob passes, that's a good thing. Cool, maybe some euro team sees it, and offers him one helluva deal so we can get rid of him.

Wasn't Austin Daye a similar exhibition game legend?
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

They are made for each other.... on another team. Somewhere far far away.

Re: Will Bynum goes off for 50 in a Chi Pro AM game
This is a good reminder of what an NBA player, even a sort of marginal one such as Will Bynum, looks like against guys that play in rec leagues or even serious city leagues.
Remember this next time you think "Man, [insert player] sucks -- I bet even I could check him".
[Insert player] would COMPLETELY TEAR YOU APART.

Yes, but the difference is Bynum has also done it against top competition in the NBA on more than one occassion. (Not 50, but has taken over games against contenders multiple times with his scoring). Whereas Austin Daye is strictly a summer league star, and never duplicates in the real league.

Re: Will Bynum goes off for 50 in a Chi Pro AM game
unless chauncey goes down there is no minutes for him here. atleast there shouldnt be. if hes playing, then chauncey/jennings are either playing less minutes than they should, or playing at the 2. i hope he is ok with being nothing more than injury insurance.. which i think is pretty neccessary with a guy like billups at this age.

Bynum is not a bad backup PG, let alone 3rd PG. He's frustrating, but there are worse options for 15min a night.

Daye would get buckets (NEVER 50) in the context of an NBA summer league. Will the Thrill has been something of a playground legend in Chicago ripping it up in some of the toughest grittiest games they have to offer. Daye would never do what Bynum has done in the environments where Bynum has done it.
Two totally different scenarios.
Very little parallel with Daye.
Also Bynum can miss shots and play through it.
Bynum can be benched for consecutive games and come in a still be productive.
Daye hasn't been able to do any of that without serious therapy or positivity sessions.
Daye right now is a mental midget incapable of playing through adversity.
Two totally different dudes.
Very little parallel with Daye.

Re: Will Bynum goes off for 50 in a Chi Pro AM game
As frustrating as his hero-ball can be at times it often works. I thought he had a very good season last year, he has developed great chemistry with Dre and plays with great heart, I'm happy to have him back as our 3rd PG.
