Remember Korleone Young?

Post#1 » by Redeemed » Mon Sep 23, 2013 5:44 pm

Grantland did an impressive article on this former prep to pros washout.

As I think about how protective the team seems to be of Andre Drummond it makes me wonder if it is the case because of Dre's talent or because the team was so loose with Young?

Korleone's life is another one of those sad cautionary tales. :(

I remember him from the Teal look days. He never seemed to have much of a bball iq. I thought the kid had potential but with Hill on the roster, I didn't expect him to get much PT. It was a bad situation for the kid with a lot of issues.

Good point. I wonder if the organization feels any responsibility for letting things go they way they did with Korleone? The kid's game wasn't developed enough to make it an immediate impact. I think there's reason to believe he could have developed if more had been invested in him. His story struck me as sort sad.

I doubt it. It was a 40th overall pick in a mediocre draft, in a season that started late and only lasted 50 games. Guys like him who were that inexperienced were screwed regardless.

I think they drafted because he had the highest upside of the remaining players and they already had Grant Hill at SF.

I wish that the current dleague rules were in play than. He coulda spent more time developing on the court in a place like fort wayne.
