Well, I was at the game. Near mid court, front section, $150 seats. In Pistons gear. Totally embarrassing how much we sucked against their starters.
Jennings looks horrible. He TRIES on defense, too, he's just way too weak to get through screens. On offense, he wasn't even trying to see the floor, because most of the "sets" were "give the ball to Moose in the high post and wait for him to do something". Awful.
Bynum is selfish, too, but he has a role on this team -- tempo PG for 10-15 minutes. If you accept his limitations, he's a decent enough player.
Billups shouldn't have played, and basically didn't. He looks ancient.
Stuckey was Stuckey, Hammer Ball. He really has no role on this team.
Despite the reason, it was awesome to get to see KCP, Datome, and Mitchell play. I think those three guys, warts and all, need 25, 15, and 10 minutes a game respectively.
Smith was embarrassing. About the only positive I took from the game was Cheeks showing some balls and benching his sorry ass.
I'm starting to dislike Monroe. He's a good player and all, but he kills all tempo. Didn't look to pass much in this one, and his high post moves cause everyone to stand around and wait. Also a whiner, big time. I'm down with dealing him for good value.
Drummond dominated the rim and the glass. Bogut was afraid to do anything against him. Jermaine O'Neal showed him a thing or two, though. Future star, even with his obvious flaws.
It was fun watching Gigi's mini-tear in the 3rd quarter. I had four or five people around me in Warriors gear ask who he was.
The whole section cheered whenever Smith took a jumper. Hilarious.
As for the Warriors, those guys are good. Picked us to pieces with passing, and they of course have all kinds of shooters. Great game by D Lee in particular. Our defensive rotations suck at ALL 5 POSITIONS.
