Harrellson's Non-Guaranteed Contract

Post#1 » by Pistons888 » Mon Nov 25, 2013 3:55 pm

What do you guys think the Pistons will do with Josh Harrellson? Personally, I'm a fan of his so far this season. I think he possesses what the team needs in the form of hard-working, smart players who don't try do too much. He seems to be a solid back-up and I'm hoping that it continues and he sticks with the team throughout the year.

This is my first post on RealGM, and hope to become a solid contributor here! I'm a big Detroit basketball fan and have been lurking the forum for quite some time now.

Welcome!

Harrellson is one of those gritty-type guys that every team needs coming off the bench at some point. I like his hustle and confidence in shooting. He is one of the few guys on this team that I don't let out a huge sigh when I see him enter game.

I'd like to see Josh get 10 minutes a night. I think he can help the Pistons. I see him as a hybrid back-up C and stretch four off the bench. I think he is young enough and cheap enough to keep around.

I have been impressed with him, but I did not like the last game where they took Drummond out in favor of him, Drummond had not fouls.

He's a decent bench guy for sure that every competitive team has so he definitely has a role with us. I liked him since the Knicks.

meh... he's managing to play spot minutes without doing something stupid. That's better than the rest of our bench bigs right now, but that isn't saying much. If he's a rotation regular, that says more about our lack of depth up front than anything else.

I'm certainly more comfortable trading Monroe now without worrying about getting a decent back-up center as part of the deal.

If he can get us 4 points a game while playing good D and taking good shots, im happy. Hes not gonna be a shot blocker or big scorer (although thats not impossible) but he gives us hustle and hard work. The funny part is, he is able to stretch the floor also which you wouldn't expect fro a big. Overall i have been very happy with his play and hope he continues to grow

Harrelson has been very solid. Plays solid d, a big body out there and can stretch the defense with his open threes.
