Turner and Thad Young have athletic talent and some feel for the game, but neither one can really shoot or defend. Given that outside shooting and wing defense are what we need, I fail to see how dealing with Philly makes any sense.

Hawes is useful as a shooter, but we already have that guy in Harrellson.

I think a huge problem for Philly right now is rim protection. Spencer Hawes is a terrible paint and post defender. This team really needs Noel. I think Turner would look better defensively on a different team.

Do you really think a stick figure with bad knees is going to keep anyone away from the rim?

FYI. Noel has only played basketball 2 of the past 5 years due to knee injuries and less than 20 games at the college level against inferior smaller players while his toughest opponent was that Center Alex Len in Phoenix who dominated Noel. Noel is destined to fail unless a miracle happens.

Fair enough but they are that bad that they need him.

Philly desperately needs interior size badly. I didn't realize how bad until I watched a game and was looking at the roster while they have no size outside of Hawes that is quality even for backups. And, Hawes and Young have been battling small nagging injuries thus they miss time or games here and there to recoup themselves.

I would trade Monroe + filler for Turner and Hawes. Turner could be so much more if he's being used properly. I would take Turner's playmaking (at the 3) and Smith's playmaking (at the 4) over Smith's playmaking (at the 3) and Monroe's playmaking (at the 4).

Would have to be Monroe with Jonas and Bynum then for Wroten, Hawes and Turner.

I'm not sure Philly does that. I love that deal for Detroit.

I think this works better in all honesty:

Detroit Gets:
F Evan Turner, G Troy Wroten, PF Lavoy Allen

Philadelphia Gets:
C Greg Monroe, F Jonas Jerebko, F Luigi Datome

With Wroten on the team can we shop Rodney for a longer contract and a first :D

These trades are all intersting while being fun to think of, but if push came to shove, I would keep Monroe no matter what unless it involved a definite All-Star.

Because, quality big men are so hard to come by, it ain't funny. And, Monroe is great insurance at Center if Drummond gets into foul troulbe or god forbid Drummond or Monroe gets hurt.

Hence, Keep Monroe at all costs. They will all learn to co-exist.

They already have, they play great together. It's when there's a third one at the 3 where it becomes a struggle

Dre Injury concerns are lessened with Jorts playing so well

This is all interesting (really... I enjoy the ideas), but if we're going to have a team with Monroe OR Smith at the 4 and Drummond at the 5, the 3 needs to be able to shoot. Doesn't need to be a primary scoring, high volume guy, but the guy needs to have a shot that pulls his defender away from the paint. Turner isn't that guy, so Turner isn't the right fit, even if we got him without giving up one of the three bigs.

I agree with you that is the ideal return. Detroit will never be offered that for Monroe. I think Detroit needs to acquire as many high end pieces as possible that fit the roster. This deal provides wing scoring and allows Detroit to move Stuckey for a longer contract and pick. Maybe for Perks and a pick from Charlotte?
