Almost EVERY young player that has left us has had a pretty good breakthrough. Brandon Knight, Amir Johnson, Aaron Afflalo, Khris Middleton, Carlos Delfino, Chase Budinger (who we shouldn't have traded) I really think we must have some sort of silly curse or something because it always feels like it happens this way. I am sick and tired of losing hidden gems and at the very least good rotation players that we could obviously have used.

I got afflao but rest of him are medicore at best.

This will come as a shock to most people, but players develop at different rates. I mean it's not like it's anything new, either.

I would add Okur to that list as well . If Davidson would have let Joe go into the luxury tax to resign him i think we would have won another Championship.

I thought Okur was unrestricted because he was a 2nd round pick so we didn't have his Bird Rights after only 2 years.

Of course, we all hated to lose him but it was him or Sheed and there's no way we could have picked him in that situation. I do agree that the ownership was cheap though.

The Bucks have just benched Middleton and moved Knight to SG. KM has not been productive at all thus far on the bench, perhaps we can get him back in FA.

I always thought we gave up on Afflalo, and Amir when we shouldn't have, but Joe was kinda clearing the roster at the time, that was the team that went on strike at the end of the yr. I love afflalo but really he played four yrs of college, and didn't break out until his 2nd season at denver. His stats outside fg pct were the same as kcp now but it was afflalo 3rd season. Amir had a chance, didn't pan out here, but we all new he was gonna do something. He's in his prime yrs now there's no suprise at this point what he's doing.I'm pretty sure he will fall through the floor in about 2rs. A season after getting a new contract.

That's crazy. We've got the most promising young frontcourt in the league. Short of drafting the next lebron, I'm not sure you can ask for a better base to build around.

Except monroe is gone. The grass was greener till Joe D opted for mediocrity now over potential dominance later.

I whole heartedly disagree with the OP. Afflalo is the only player that actually looks great after trading him away. I can sit here and talk about every other player but they're really not worth the time. Gordon was good before us. Got his contract with us. Fell out of the line up after us.

I definitely see a Monroe trade coming soon by the trade deadline. I still have hope in the front court developing into the best front court in the NBA. But KCP NEEDS to drop that shot as often as a professional shooter needs to hit it. I still think our starting line up is very good. I do believe KCP is the last piece to fit in but unfortunately he's a rookie. He'll get even better in the future. I really like him. I can guarantee you if KCP goes to the Spurs, Popovich will make him look like a Leonard or a Bowen. I think Dumars will take a look at the January games and make his decision on Monroe or Smith. I still believe Smith is tradeable as he's proven that he's a quality player on the Hawks and is proving it again on the Pistons but definitely not in a consistent manner. I think Monroe is the odd man out because that shot still hasn't been developed. Regardless if we keep him or not, I don't believe Monroe will get a max contract and I don't believe he should. Another team will probably be stupid enough to give it to him though. His defense is garbage. I'd love to see a Jennings, Monroe, Stuckey for Rondo and Green trade. Rondo will greatly benefit KCP, Smith, and Drummond. His passes are ridiculous. He can also shoot the open three. With KCP and Green and even Smith here and there, we won't have trouble spreading the floor. I hope it happens but I haven't really been able to guess any trade that the Pistons have made in the past. We'll see what happens I guess.

I really don't believe Dumars has faith in Monroe's defense. Defense is coachable. It's all about effort. Monroe's feet on offense are really good but are horrible on defense. He doesn't even try when he wants to win and wants a contract. I think he's out for that reason. Defense has always been the #1 priority in Detroit. I don't see it any differently right now. I think Monroe still has a lot of potential being on a rookie contract still, a big man, a restricted free agent, and a hub of the offense. I think he'll be traded by February. I just hope it's something nice.

In all likelihood he's gone. Id b shocked if he stayed. Even if he stayed that means we have smith at the 3 long term...

Jesus Polka Dancing Christ, this is some of the most baseless stuff I've ever read on here.

A. He'll be an RFA. Meaning, any team that makes an offer, we can match and say piss off.

B. There is this thing called trades, maybe for some crazy reason, LeBron decides to take his talent to Detroit, or Durant gets sick of OKC fans playing Doodle Jump. Hey, look at that, we can give you Smith! Made more easier if some crazy how, those players do want to leave.

C. I have to reiterate just how baseless this stuff is on here.

yeah, but will the F.O. be willing to match any offer and say piss off, when they already have a ready replacement in Smith?

its fantasy land to think Smith or his contract could help facilitate any trades of that caliber.

He's a young big man who puts double digits in points and rebounds. Only guys I can think of who'd be that stupid is David Kahn, Bryan Colangelo, and Ted Stepien. Besides, it seems a lot of people on here seem to forget that you don't trade big for small. And why is that? Because bigs are at a premium and always will be.

Honestly, if Monroe were to get traded and he plays well, every fool on this board who advocated for his trade will be screaming about it.

If you mean putting up 16-10 on a bad team as playing well then we all already know that is going to happen so nobodies going to be screaming about it.
