Andre Miller anyone?

Post#1 » by Jackattaq » Tue Jan 7, 2014 3:51 pm

If he's gonna be traded in the next two days, is there any chance of moving Bynum and someone else to pick up the vet PG? He'd be a nice backup to Jennings and potentially even "closer" material since Jenning's shot selection seems to go to he11 in the 4th. Would we want him?

Heck no!

Bynum/JSmoove for Gallinari/Miller -- sure!

But Dumars would probably look to deal KCP/SIngler for him so we could field a PG/PF team:

PG - Jennings / Billups / Miller /Bynum / Siva
SG - Stuckey
SF - Smith
PF - Monroe / Smith / Jerebko / Datome / CV / Mitchell
C - Drummond / Monroe / Harrellson

I was looking at it more as a rental until the end of the year, he kind of shores up the PG spot (a point of weakness, forgive the pun) and I think Bynum gone, is addition by subtraction. Andre Miller isn't the same player he was 7-8 years ago, but he's still adequate and he can make a post entry pass, something our other players can't seem to do with any sort of proficiency. I'd expect he'd probably retire at the end of the year (expiring?) or find a team to leach on to (a la all the slugs that go to MIAMI). I would at least inquire, if I'm Joe, Bynum's "hero ball" doesn't work and we sure miss Stuckey right now. Siva isn't there yet, but Miller could fill in the void for a bit.

Andre Miller is one of my fave PGs ever, so underrated.

He would be awesome as a backup, definitely an upgrade over Bynum. He is outstanding with bigs, even at his older age.

I'd jump on that deal without hesitation, regardless of Galo's knee injury.

Any idea what Denver wants for him? Always been a fan of his and he could even be our go-to-guy down the stretch in games, his scoring has always been underrated.

Since Billips is giving us essentially nothing on court, it would be nice to have a reliable vet PG backing up Jennings.
Bynum + for miller would be perfect.

Bynum plus what? If they give him away it would be for an expiring not a guy like Bynum who they have no minutes for anyway.

Bynum and Jerebko so we can have some extra space for next year.

I believe he's in his 17th season, not sure he's still a full-time starter, but he's still pretty good.

I wouldn't mind bringing Miller in but Bynum or JJ wont get it done, and id rather use any expendable assets we do have to focus on adding a wing.

^ This. If we get him this cheaply and he helps our cap situation for this offseason, I'm all for it. But no trading young assets for him (or really, anything of value).
