Smart is indeed a similar prospect to Stuckey. Both were oversized PGs who outmuscled the smaller college guards to get buckets. Neither were awfully good at dishing out assists, (Smart is averaging only 4.2, Stuckey averaged 4.1 then 5.5), or shooting (Smart is shooting 29% from 3, Stuckey shot 26% his sophomore year). Both turned the ball over quit a bit, averaging over 3 TO's per game each. However, Stuckey carried a larger scoring load and at a better FG% than Smart is.

Heck, Stuckey's numbers look better than Smart's do, although he was facing weaker competition. I don't want Smart. I don't think that he's some bust waiting to happen, but he isn't going to be the franchise PG like he's advertised to be. He should be a 6th man like Stuckey.

I love the prospect of Dante Exum more than any other guards in this draft. The guy is a lightning when running down the court and can finish at the rim at a high level. Sucks that he didn't go to college though, I would've loved to see how his game panned out.

I like Zach LaVine a lot personally, but he's a SG prospect. Exum has some great upside, but it's really hard for me to know anything about him for sure because he's playing in Australia.

Don't worry, you guys are in the exact same predicament that we're in with our obligation to Chicago. We literally flip flop every game about whether we're a playoff team or one ready to tank. One or two guys can go absolutely ballistic for weeks on end (seriously Al Jefferson is playing the best ball of his career right now) and we'll look like we can take down any team but Indy or Miami in this conference, but something WILL happen to bring us down, like a key injury (example: Kemba Walker's first missed games of his entire career). It's like we're destined for the middle and it's horrible.

I want to keep the pick and have a top 8 pick in the 2014 draft.

But, if I had to make a wager, I'd assume the team trends right where they're at and finish just outside the playoffs and surrender their pick to Charlotte, completing Dumars' tenure with one more astonishing failure.

Don't worry, Detroit will make sure you still have a lottery pick this year.

At this point we'd be better off tanking, but I don't think we are quite bad enough to pull it off. We have just enough talent to complete our annual post-All Star game run and drop about 6-8 spots in the lottery standings, essentially screwing ourselves out of the pick.

We should trade Stuckey & Monroe, start Jennings/Bynum/Smith/CV/Drummond and tell them they'll be benched if they even think about shooting from closer than 20 feet. Which honestly shouldn't be a problem.
