They poll all the GMs at the beginning of each year on various topics, like who will win MVP, who will win the East, who will win coach of the year, etc And they also are asked which active player would make the best HC.

Chauncey was voted #1 for the second straight year. This year by a wide margin.

All the other GMs can see it, but apparently ours cannot.

WHO THE F**K VOTES DEANDRE JORDAN?????!!!!!

I'm guessing guys like Josh SMITH and Brandon Jennings. Guys with very low IQ's share the same train of thought.

I was reading about mo cheeks past. His failures with other teams have been exactly the same as what's going on here. He is so poorly spoken.

I posted an espn article a while back from when he was fired in Philly a month into the season. It cited the exact same issues that the Pistons now exhibit. Why Joe hired this bum I have no idea, but Philly recognized immediately when it was starting to go awry away and did something. The Pistons just don't give a **** I guess because they just continue on like nothing is wrong.

The article I read was about Portland. It said he spent more time yuking it up with fans behind the bench than coaching. It also said he had no clue of the players on opposing teams.

So there was documented evidence of these problems at both of his last jobs and Joe still hired him anyways. lol

The Sixers situation was almost identical. That was the summer they spent a bunch of money on Elton Brand expecting to be contenders in the East, and Cheeks couldn't get the job done then either. You would think Joe would've seen that as a red flag, knowing he was bringing him into the same situation - about to spend a bunch of money in FA, adding pieces to a young team and expecting to contend. If he couldn't get it done then, why did Joe think this would be different?

The 76ers signed Elton Brand and Andre Iguodala to $80 million deals in the offseason and gave another $25 million to Louis Williams because they believed they could contend in the East.

When the blossoming Sixers nucleus stumbled to start the season, it was Maurice Cheeks who paid the price.

Cheeks was fired Saturday in his fourth year as coach of the Sixers, who are slumping at 9-14 a season after making the playoffs. Assistant general manager Tony DiLeo was appointed coach for rest of 2008-09.

The only shot Dumars has of retaining his job is if he fired Cheeks as soon as possible and hired Hollins. Do it now so he has a few weeks before the trade deadline so he can have, at the very least, a competent head coach to help him make a good trade. What else does he have to lose? At the very worst he's fired this off season. But there's a legit chance Hollins can get it right and we make a run for that 6th seed and get these kids some real playoff experience, maybe even a 1st rd win. Wishful thinking but not far fetched.
