Stealing an idea from another post, I just made a petition to fire Joe Dumars and Mo Cheeks.

Every time anyone signs the petition, an email gets sent to Platinum Equity, Gores' company.

Let's make it known that we won't put up with this trash any longer.

Ive contacted the Detroit News and Detroit Free Press about getting this petition some press. They said minimum 1000 votes before any article will be published. Im posting to Reddit to see maybe we can get the 1000 votes faster.

Not everyone at those publications is in Dumars pocket. There are young staff members that would love to see their name on an article that would eventually get some kind of national attention. When stupider **** like NBA player nicknames started online get media attention a petition with over 1,000 votes will surely drum up some negative press for Gores and Detroit.

You're going have to do more than an online petition to get national attention. See the fire Millen movement. Has there been a fire Dumars march in Detroit? Nope. Has there been any games that didn't involve any team from Michigan with fans holding up a fire Dumars sign or chanting fire Dumars? Doubtful.

That's what I said when he bought the team. In fact when Bill Davidson died I said that the Pistons would probably suck from then on out. Dumars has really gotten complacent though.

This has been my thinking as well. Platinum Equity's business is buying a struggling business, investing to boost it's value, and selling for massive profits (they recently closed a deal that netted them billions).

Gores' actions have essentially mirrored this process in Detroit. Investing in upgrading the Palace, marginal upgrades to the roster. I wouldn't be surprised a bit if this team was up for sale within three years. And honestly, I hope he does sell the team.

Still not sure how much blame you can put directly onto Gores for our current suckiness - save maybe the fact that he hasn't fired Dumars yet and allowed him to further make a mess of the roster, of course.

But perhaps with a new GM who actually makes sound decisions and who brings in a competent coach, maybe Gores would prove to be a pretty cool owner.

Yes, Gores should have cleaned house.....shame on him for that.

But I think this mess is way more on Dumars, as far as his actions have directly led to our bad team.
