How anyone could praise him for his play last night is beyond me.

Yeah he had a few good moments but they were not enough to justify the fact that Smith yet again was a disaster on offense and in the 4th quarter. Why Cheeks continues to go to him in the clutch when he's playing so badly is beyond me.

I can only imagine how much better we would be with Jennings/KCP/SF/Monroe/Drummond as our starting 5. The good thing is the FO knows that Smith has been a mistake, now hopefully they can convince some other team to take him.

Josh Smith only had 6 boards because Monroe and Drummond are gobbling up boards on the both ends of the floor. You can praise Smith for a couple of good plays he created and his good defense on Lebron. My goodness, we have a tough crowd here.

Off topic, but did anyone here notice Lebron guarding Monroe? I wonder if that means that other teams consider Monroe our best player.

Monroe was playing well in the post and was the only reliable offensive threat we had.
Lebron is their best defender and he took it upon himself to try and slow moose.

Then with a stroke of genius, cheeks takes out our reliable offensive threat and replaces him with Sir Chuck-alot. Miami may have won the game, but Lebron can't stop Monroe when he's on the bench. Great thinking Cheeks.

and there's no doubt in my mind the league won't fine him and Wade won't get a warning on his kick against KCP to get the shooting foul, even though Jennings got warned for doing the same thing.

Then I look at the box score - Josh Smith, 5-20 from the field, 1-4 from 3pt land. WTF! I sure hope he had a hell of a defensive game to justify his minutes.
You could make a decent case for that, why you would bother putting yourself through that kind of cognitive dissonance is another story.

But some people like being masochists so that's completely fine.

I guess being a Piston fan is it's own special brand of masochism. So are you saying Josh did play good D last night? I didn't see the game and very confused why Cheeks gives him enough minutes to go 5-20.
Nah I'm just being facetious about the whole defense thing that Josh brought. His defense was almost negated by his willingness to handle the ball and shoot.

Yeah, Cheeks made a couple of questionable rotations. I would have liked to seen Monroe in the game in-place of Jerebko. And Stuckey needs to play the 1 more often instead of Bynum.
