3-Way Fun with WASH and BOS

Post#1 » by Piston Pete » Tue Feb 11, 2014 10:29 pm

TO BOSTON:
PF Charlie Villanueva (expiring)
Future 2nd rounder (from Wash)

They get cap relief and a future pick for Jeff Green and his hefty contract.

Rondo / Bayless
Bradley / Johnson
Wallace / Bogans
Bass / KHump / CV
Sullinger / Olynyk / Faverani

TO WASHINGTON:
PG Will Bynum

Rumor has it Washington is looking for a backup PG more than anything right now, and they could get Bynum from us on the cheap.

Wall / BYNUM
Beal / Webster
Ariza / Webster / Porter
Nene / Booker / Harrington
Gortat / Seraphin

TO DETROIT:
SF Jeff Green
C Jan Vesely (expiring)

We take on long-term salary to improve our talent base.

Jennings / Stuckey
Singler / KCP
Smith / Green
Monroe / Smith
Drummond / Monroe

Isn't there already a thread where everyone posts their trade ideas?

I'm fine with different trade threads being on their own. If you have a someewhat fresh idea, people can see it rather than having it buried in some general trade discussion.

Works for me. Well thought out trade. Hopefully Dumars (and Gores) are reading this :-) The only downside is any trade where we take on a salary like this is essentially taking us out of the free agent market this summer. So would we rather get Green now or can we get a better free agent SF in the summer? I'm not sure of the answer to that, but that is really the only downside of what you proposed.

Washington doesn't want Bynum, Denver doesn't want Bynum, nobody wants Bynum, please stop. If you want Green for CV it will likely cost a future #1 or KCP as well.

That is true I guess. Who wants to sift through 80 pages of trades?

Or we could do CV and Singler for Green.

Just because Boston wants to trade him because they don't feel he is part of their future plans does not mean they are going to give him away.

Sounds good to me, but sc8581 is right, somebody's going to want KCP in this deal. We have to give up talent to get talent.

I just can't see Boston giving up Green for CV31, It's no secret CV has sucked majorly, why would they want him?
And just a 2nd rounder coming in... I have a feeling they'd want more.

They might want CV because his deal expires at the end of the season, not only do they want cap space this summer but they want to tank so... Again though, I think they clearly would ask for another asset of some type, KCP probably.

Maybe Washington would throw in SF Chris Singleton going to Boston.

Singler is cheap floor stretcher that saves them huge money this summer.

Boston isn't giving Green away for expirings.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Yeah awful trade. Keep it to the trade board. Can we get a lock down on this thread? Thanks.
