My point was how much better off we could be had we followed the Thunder plan and exercised some patience and built to the strengths of our young team, allowing wins to happen organically. Dumars wasn't afforded that opportunity by ownership. Now it's wrecked our cap and put a ceiling on the teams potential.

I've said this many times, Dumars has never wanted to build a team that way, and stated in the media many times hes against tanking.

I don't think Gores was out of line when he stated he wanted the playoffs.

The problem begins when Joe fails on Draft Night and then again in free agency.

Half the East was tanking, or looked to be tanking. Joe had millions of cap space, 2 talented bigs, some cheap, young parts AND contracts like CV & Stuckey that should have been attractive to several teams.

This all reminds me of the BG/CV summer. We had Stuckey, Afflalo, Rip, Prince under contract and Maxiell was the only big man who could walk and chew gum at the same time...so Joe signed BG & CV!

Just really, really stupid.

IMO a better coach would have made this work but when we struck out there (again!) we were swimming up **** creek
