but he can shoot?
and he can also play better defense than anyone else we have on the perimeter. he just can't be relied on at this point to get his own shot.

Because he went to Michigan and 75% of the board loved him.

Not to be that guy, but I feel fairly vindicated with my KCP hate leading up to the draft. Did not want him at all then, don't want him at all now. And yes I know it's early, but I want to at least be consistent in my unhappiness with him

That's fair. I was all over the place with my opinions leading up to the draft. I could sell myself on anyone, and convince myself a reason to be turned off just as easily. The only player I was relatively solidly against was MCW, which I was obviously wrong on. Shamu has been a disappointment in Minnesota, but he's playing for Adelman, who is notorious for not giving rookies a chance.

I'm all for judging KCP on what KCP does. How well Burke or anyone else turns out shouldn't be used to criticize or defend KCP himself. We can criticize the pick, but it's not a reflection one way or the other on the player himself.
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

After watching the game on Sunday with a couple of my co-workers, they made similar comments. Everyone kept asking why don't you guys run Stuckey to his strength and why don't we run KCP as our shooter coming off the bench. Bynum is horrible, I fully expect a lost any time he receives big minutes.

Because he can't shoot?

KCP can shoot, he just needs to work on his overall offense. The kid plays defense, rebounds, and hustles. I would take KCP at the 2 over Singler any day of the week. Cheeks lost it when he took KCP out of the starting line-up.
