We should trade Drummond to Milwaukee for the #1 pick and draft Nik Stauskus :D

So you basically described Lamarcus Aldridge with All NBA defense...so no.

I don't know wtf you are talking about. Aldridge has no 3pt shot and is a poor defender, so how the **** do you read a description of Payne as being a tough defender who can make 3's and think Lamarcus Aldridge? And where did I say he would be anything close to the level of talent as Aldridge to even come up with that comparison?

So I don't see your analogy at all. I described him as a poor mans Rasheed. Unless you think Aldridge is a poor mans Rasheed... :dontknow:
Come on now.

Sheed also had a post game and a much quicker release on his jumper. Plus, he had great height and length, which allowed him to play center as well as power forward. They are both bigs who can shoot three's, but let's end the comparison there.

I don't think you understand what the term "poor man's version" means. The only thing I said was they both can shoot 3's and play good defense. I already ended the comparison there. So I'm not sure I understand what you are arguing here.

I don't think he has star potential in the NBA. But, he can be a very nice role player.

Everybody that goes to the Spurs are not studs. If he's a stud, he will be a stud.

Let's not discount the value a potential "Major Payne" nickname could have to his NBA career.

All jokes aside, as a Michigan fan, Payne is one of my favorite players to watch in college basketball today. He plays hard, has plenty of skill, and seems like a genuinely good dude (there is a fairly heartwarming story out about him taking a little girl with cancer under his wing). Combine that with, so far, a big tournament performance and I definitely think he should be rising up the draft boards (meaning to the late teens to early twenties range instead of late 1st to 2nd range he is in now). I think any contender looking for an additional piece would love him.

Payne will be a little weak defending the post which may prevent him from being a starter... he's still got a lot going for him... I see him as a quality backup and not a wasted pick anywhere after the lotto (Ford says scouts think he'll make the lotto with a good tourney).
