NBA Draft 2013: Your Personal Big Boards

I look forward to our 2014 big board thread after the draft lottery (when we can determine if we actually have a pick, and where it will be)

Great to look back at these threads. Not sure why I didn't participate in this one in particular (maybe on vacation), but you can check a lot of other draft threads where I expressed my opinion on some of these pick. For sure, more than anyone else, I was adamant about Bazz being a bust, so much that I changed my avatar to express that opinion.

I also was confident that Oladipo would be solid. Too much athleticism, and I had watched him play strong against my Wolverines and was always impressed.

My "worst" picks were Porter and McLemore. I thought they would both be solid NBA starters by now. And I would have loved for the Pistons to move up and get one or both.

Agree with other comments - it was a pretty crappy draft. For us to get KCP at #8, I think we did ok. He could still be a starter, even next year. He is a good enough athlete, and I'm sure he learned a lot this year.

One more thing - as the draft played out and Noel dropped to #6, and the whole horrid New Orleans trade with Philly, I really, really wish we had gotten involved. Either move up and get Noel, or get a pick from New Orleans.

i'm still holding out hope for porter. he was viewed as probably the safest pick in the draft at the time. he's just been a victim of a number's game in washington playing behind both ariza and webster. the talent, IQ, and measurements are all there, he just needs a chance (here maybe??)

I still have faith in Porter, if.he can come into camp next year a little bit bigger and stronger he'lll be a solid player, and probably be Washingtons starting SF next year.. Between the early injury, the log jam of Webster/Ariza and not having an NBA ready body he started out behind the 8 ball this year and could never really catch up. The weight room needs to be his best friend this off-season.

I guess I should feel good having Giannis in my top 10, but this draft was pretty much a crapshoot.

I still got high hopes for Jean-Charles when he comes over for the Spurs.

1. Shabazz Muhammad - star potential -has hardly played
2. Gorgi dieng- all star big man potential - has had a handful of really good games, potential is definitely there
3. Trey Burke- best point guard in draft - might end up behind MCW, Oladipo, and Ray McCallum when all's said and done
4. Tony mitchell- best small forward in draft - not actually a small forward
5. Oladipo- defense athletic 2 guard - playing point guard, no groundbreaking predictions here
6. Noel- athletic defensive big with low build - hasn't played, can't be evaluated
7. Jamaal Franklin- dynamic player/ winner/ IQ player - has hardly played
8. McCullum - elite shooter/ best combo guard - you can't take any credit if you can't spell his name right , it's spelled McCollum
9. Zeller - best power forward in draft - not saying much here
10. Mclemore- not enough killer instinct

Dream scenario: Shabazz at 8 and dieng or tony mitchell at 13 with trades of course

No, I was always aware of it, but playing him at SF would be a terrible idea. It'd be like Josh Smith all over again-he'd start chucking 3's like he did his second year of college. He really doesn't have the perimeter skills to play SF.

No, I have, I'm just saying, they're making it like they plan on keeping him there. In any event, saying he's athletic and could play defense is basically no prediction at all, since those were facts going into the draft.

Based on what? Noel hasn't even played. He could still end up better.

Not too late for him to pull it together, not that he'll ever live up to being #1 overall.

Bit early to say that since he hasn't played much. Plus, his team's fighting for the playoffs, no time for rookies.

Carter-Williams is shooting 25% from 3, 69% from the free throw line, and 39% overall. He still blows. You sure you want his shooting coach?
