Loyer is exactly doing what the other coaches did
since Flip Saunders has gone.
Nothing
-Curry
-Kuester
-Lawrence
-Cheeks
-Loyer
Hell that's 5 coaches we used with no improvement over past seasons;
Maybe Dumars has a hand in it.(or an arm)

Still time to fire Loyer. Firing Cheeks has accomplished nothing. Loyer is even worse. I hope this guy doesn't get another job in the NBA.

John Loyer has publicly come out and explicitly stated that the Detroit Pistons will not rest veterans in favor of young players as the season winds down.

That idea is beyond a long shot. Izzo has all of zero reasons to leave MSU. He can stay there, still make millions and not worry about his job from season to season based on short term success.

It's the same reason you'll never see coach K in the NBA.

I just don't think if you signed Izzo or Coach K as an NBA Franchise that you'd play by the same short-term success rules. You'd give them the benefit of the doubt and a longer leash in terms of time before labeling it a failure. Also, Izzo is 59. How long does he want to coach? Another 5 years? Or does he want to go for another 10? Could offer him a much larger contract than he currently has, making him one of the highest paid coaches in the NBA, with the opportunity to join the front office afterwards (if that interested him). There's a lot of things that could be done to make it a bit more intriguing.

It definitely shouldn't be looked at as the most likely outcome, but it would be an interesting one for sure!

After being labeled the worst head coach in the league in that ESPN poll thing, plus with the free agent coaches, college coaches, and maybe upcoming desired assistants (been mentored) that haven't had a chance yet, I think it's safe to say that he will not being getting another head coach opportunity. He might end up as an assistant somewhere though buried on a bench.

Sitting the vets so the team can get better draft positioning, which he probably won't be on next year isn't exactly going to improve his résumé either.

The choice to sit the vets would probably have to come from the front office, which Dumars wouldn't probably even do if he wasn't about to be fired.

Not sure what this means. The Pistons are doing a pretty good job of losing no matter who they play. Might actually be dangerous to play the young guys.

Doesn't say he won't play them, just won't give things over to them. Maybe he's just annoyed Jennings would make the statement.
