Top ten players this year

Post#1 » by RSCD3_ » Sat Apr 12, 2014 1:40 pm

As the season is almost over and we have to wait for the lottery to see if we retain our pick who have been the top players in the nba this year in your opinions?

Anthony Davis has HOFer written all over him.

Noah proved once again you can be the best player on the floor without even scoring, not necessarily last night but many times throughout the season.

2013 may have been the worst draft ever

After the Top4 it gets interesting:
1. Kevin Durant
2. LeBron James
3. Chris Paul
4. Dwight Howard

and then?
5. Blake Griffin
6. Melo
7. Kevin Love
8. Noah
9. Steph Curry
10. James Harden

and I mean.. Anthony Davis, Dragic, Paul George, LMA, Dirk, Parker, DMC, and Kyrie all have cases.
Just my opinion.

1) Durant
2) Lebron
3) Blake
4) Paul
5) Noah
6) Harden
7) George
8) Dirk
9) LMA
10) Curry

Melo, Love, Davis are DQ'd for not being in the playoffs. Dragic, Al Jefferson & DeRozen/Lowry deserve a special mention.

Some of these answers make me wonder if people pay attention at all or just regurgitate names. Hibbert? Anyone paying attention knows Noah has been way better than Dwight.

I like better Noah than Howard, but Noah right now is the first option in his team, and every possession pass for him. Howard sometimes is ignored and he only fight for the offensive rebound or just back to defense.

I've never really liked Hibbert, but I can understand if you want to make the case for Noah over Dwight due to his playmaking ability being displayed this season because the offense is being ran through him. However, I really like Dwight more because of the ability to score and I think he's the better rebounder. Plus, there's times where he takes over the game and opponents just resort to fouling him because they think it's more likely he misses free throws instead of actually playing defense and stopping him. Both of them are Top10 without a doubt this year though!

I don't like that you DQ'd certain players for not making the playoffs. Melo had arguably the best year of his career, it's not his fault that his team completely exploded and were loaded with distractions. The Knicks weren't even close to who they were last year. Also, Anthony Davis had to miss games due to injury, and Ryan Anderson/Jrue Holiday had like no impact on the season - next year they should make the playoffs if everyone stays healthy.

Lebron took Varajeo and a bunch of scrubs (look at that Cavs team) to the Finals. Durant has missed Westbrook for half this year and doesn't have much outside of Ibaka and has the Thunder at one of the best records in the league. I have a big problem with Melo being on a team 11 games under .500 and missing out on the playoffs to a team whose GM has come out and said the playoffs aren't a goal. The West is a bit different of an animal and Davis will be up there very soon. Love deserves mention, but again, he hasn't played in a playoff game in his career.

Hate doing lists like this because outside of KD/Lebron, everyone else is super close, there isnt a ton of space between 3 & 10. Screw it though, here's mine off the top of my head.

1. KD/Lebron
2. KD/Lebron
3. Harden
4. LMA
5/6. K Love/Blake
7. CP3
8. Steph Curry
9. Al Jeff
10. Noah

After that you get Davis, Lillard, Dirk, Melo, Derozan, Cousins, Dwight etc.

1. KD
2. Lebron
3. Harden
4. Noah
5. Howard
6. Curry
7. LMA
8. Unibrow
9. Love
10. Griffin/ Al Jeff

I don't care if unibrow's team didn't make the playoffs. Look at their roster and record. They are easily a playoff team in the east. He's had an incredible year. I also bumped up Noah, love, and Jeff for the same reason. Huge impact on whatever success their team had.
