Wondering how Detroit ended up with the NBA's 25th-ranked defense despite their massive size up front? You can start with the point of attack. And that starts with Jennings. The frail point guard allowed a whopping 491 drives this season, which was the highest total of any player in SportVU's database. No matter how many big bodies there are out there, that's a lot of mess to clean up.

I'm going to post this next time someone blames our bad defense on Drummond. A defensive anchor is supposed to clean up occasional breakdowns around him. Not 491 of them from one player.

Dre is already top 10 in the league in blocks. He could be #1 and still wouldn't make a difference with that much penetration. Even Ben Wallace is his prime would be dazed & confused trying to clean up that many mistakes.

Unfortunately Phil Jackson isn't as stupid as that Knicks GM that traded a 1st round pick for Bargnani. I think he even criticized Dumars for picking up Smith/Jennings in free agency recently.

Jennings loves to defend his assignment all the way from the half-court line. Never ices the pick, or even tries to.

Get this man out of here.
