18 second mark. Parrish punches Laimbeer.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=idA9Vym1F54Notice the ref watching the entire thing. He blows his whistle and calls a foul.
Parrish DID NOT get thrown out of the game. The refs didn't have the ba!!s to throw him out in Boston Garden. He continued to play, which helped the Celtics win game 5 (that was the game Isiah's pass was "intercepted by Bird who laid it off to DJ" in the closing seconds - so Parrish not getting thrown out was huge). The league then suspended Parrish for game 6 (one game) which Boston simply gave to the Pistons, knowing they'd be coming back to the Garden in game 7 to win it.
Can you imagine a player throwing those punches today and not getting thrown out immediately?
Such a different era. That's why you felt like you were at war as a fan. I remember going to game 6 at the Silverdome, and everyone wanted blood...but Parrish didn't even make the trip.
