F* no calderon, listen as bad as jennings was , JC would have got us a couple more wins, but also pistons would be even harder to watch. This honestly should be Knight vs Jennings discussion. Fact of the matter is we played better with a player who's learning how to be a pg but plays defense than a point guard who is incapable of playing defense

Dallas fan here ... Dallas will gladly trade Calderon back to you for Monroe ..

Calderon + Ellington $2.7 Million expiring + 3 1st rd picks for Monroe Sign and trade $14 Million

If you would rather have Dalembert instead of Ellington that's fine too

We'll go ahead and counter with Josh Smith & Brandon Jennings for Monta Ellis & Brandan Wright

I wanted to re-sign Calderon and i wanted Ellis. it's annoying to see them do so well this year for another team.

Retaining Calderon should have been a priority. He could have seriously helped Knight for 3 seasons.

The fact he's money from deep ensures he'd have a role as he aged too.

Calderon + Korver instead of Smith + Jennings and we'd be in the playoffs!

Dre
Moose/Jorts/Jerebko/Mitchell
Korver/Singler/Middleton
Knight/KCP/Stuckey
Calderon/Knight/Billups

CV the forgotten man who we could have sent to Philly at the deadline with a 2nd round pick for Turner.

We get a free look at Turner in our "system"

Playoff rotation:

Drummond 34/Monroe 14
Monroe 20/other bigs 28
Korver 30/Singler 18
KCP 28/Turner 20
Calderon 28/Knight 20

Its not them. Its the coaching, players around them, and great ownership/front office. Both players came from environments similar to what we have here and failed, and then go to a well run franchise and succeed. In other words, they would've been the same players here that they were in Milwaukee, Toronto, Detroit, etc the last few years.

They aren't good enough to change a bad franchise, but they are good enough to succeed if put into a good franchise. We are not that type of franchise right now though.

I wanted Ellis too though. When we had 7 mil left to spend and used it on Bynum, Datome, and Billups, and then he signed with Dallas for 7 mil, I was furious.

It's true our environment sucks in Detroit, but calderon is a smart player regardless of where he plays and well i just like Ellis. He may be a bit of a knuckle head, but he's just one guy i love watching.

I would have loved to have got Ellis when we still had knight.
I think that combo would have worked because they could have split up the PG duties.
