Agreed, I prefer Smith over a lot of players. Once we get a good coach our team will develop an identity and Smith will help Monroe/Drummond grow. Just like my dude BMP says, Josh Smith will prove you guys wrong!

Yes, I agree a winning culture, strong front office and identity will go a long way in terms of utilizing J. Smiths talents correctly.
My only concern is what he brings to the table leadership wise and age wise.
You see when we were building the 2004 championship team the veterans we had leading up to the peak years like Cliff Robinson for example were of a different mold than J. Smith.
Cliff filled a role at a reasonable salary, high basketball IQ, played solid D, was a better 3 point shooter and with the size of his contract he was only viewed as a medium size piece to the puzzle. When the Pistons had developed beyond needing him, he was easily moved.
I don't see J. Smith this way because when you make nearly a max salary and are solely depend on your athleticism it makes it much harder to find a match for his talents. He can be successful in a team environment but not here the way the team is currently constructed and by the time the new front office figures out how to use him, I believe he will not even be beneficial at that stage of the younger players development.

One thing is for sure and that is having all three (Drummond, Monroe, Smith) is a disaster. So at this point, I'm all for moving Monroe because we get railed with another large contract. If we can move Smith too, that'd be a bonus.

MANY. Till either something happens or nothing happens...then thread will be made predicting how it would work out or what new future move possibilities have been opened up.
