Dario Saric declares for the draft

Post#1 » by theBigLip » Sat Apr 26, 2014 11:31 pm

Ok, this isn't earth shattering news, but it is good news nonetheless. He's just on the fringe of the top 8, and someone could get him in front of us. So those of us that want Smart, Saric could possibly push him down to us.

Isnt there a chance he stays over seas for a few more years though?

There certainly is that chance, which I think is why he is all over the place in mocks. He could fit our team - we could use a PF that passes rather than jacking up crazy 3 pointers :-)

McGary is no way near as athletic as David Lee, and doesn't have much length.

Like most international prospects- I haven't seen enough to form an opinion on him. All I know about him is that he's been waffling on entering the draft the last couple years, and finally committed after months of playing hokey pokey with the idea.

No. A quick Google search reveals that Darko Saric is a Serbian Mafia boss. He's 43 years old and a 2nd round pick at best.

In this thread, we are talking about Dario Saric. He has considerably more upside (albeit less firepower), and could very well be a lottery pick.

Both are longshots for coming over to the league next year. One would have to get out of his EuroLeague contract and the other would have to get out of prison.
Tom Gores' Securus faced a class action lawsuit in 2024. The company engaged in a "quid pro quo kickback scheme" with county jails in Michigan which banned in-person visits in order to maximize revenue from voice and video calls.

That guy Darko Saric is in jail since last month. Maybe he'll get 30 years if judge feels some empathy.

Great sense of humor, though. :D :D

Saric will (~80-90% chance to happen) leave his current club in a two months. The question is: for some Euroleague club (sources say: Efes Pilsen) or for NBA. Last weekend he dominated F4 of ABA league putting some impressive games like 23pts (2/8 for 2pts, 5/9 for 3pts - combined FG 7/17), 11rebs, 7ast, 5blks, 5TO. Danny Ainge was in Belgrade that night and saw Saric's performance. So, C's are interested, I guess.

I'm always scared of seeing international players being projected so high because I just don't watch Euroleague ball and have no idea what any of the players really look like. I would be scared to death if we used he #8 pick on him because the general stereotype with European players are: too slow, not the best defenders, and not that great at rebounding. I'd like to continue to build an athletic defensive roster since we burned high picks on Drummond/KCP.

I'm lmfao at Darko Saric! That's hilarious.
