If Smennings must stay, what's the rest of your ideal plan?

Smith absolutely needs to be traded off this team, there is no other solution if we want Dre and Moose to reach their potential. Jennings could be a GREAT 6th man and has shown more of a willingness to adapt his play than Smith has.

So in short I refuse to imagine a future where we keep both!

I think a few players have said things about "White" owners in the past while nothing happens. Racism only goes one way.

Just stating what I witness. You rarely see anyone lambasted for criticizing white people from Asians, Muslims, African or whatever heritages.

Well they discussing suspensions for using the N word. Yes its sad that minorities are always held to a lower standard and thats the basic route/cause of racism.

I dont agree with Sterling but I can certianly understand why he thinks people are beneath him when he can write a check and buy off whatever group he offends. He can call people whatever names he wants because he can afford to pay into the swear jar.

When it comes to the Rich "Elite" of this world, they will always look down upon anyone who is working class and that includes athletes. I bet every NBA owner is prejudice in some form, but then that could apply to just about most people in the world when it comes down to the cold hard facts. Then, just about everyone who goes from poor to rich becomes corrupt too. Mankind is just imperfect that way. But, his comments did piss me off.

Nothing about that would be ideal. I think ideally we can at least dump them for an expiring. If we're absolutely stuck with them for a few years then I would:

Trade Monroe for a SF (Jeff Green?), move Smith to the 4, draft a PG, and bring Jennings in as the scoring punch off the bench

Or

Draft Kyle Anderson as the main distributor in a point forward role. Jennings and KCP would move to off-ball. Bring in a coach who abhors half court offense and run, run, run. Bring Monroe off the bench and use him as bait to upgrade the PG position later in the season.

No guarantee we win anymore games then what we did this year in either scenario.

If you "run run run" in a team with Monroe and Anderson you would must put on the court a oxygen tank if you don't want they die.

I'm of the opinion that the monroe-smith logjam needs to be solved this offseason for the betterment of the franchise moving forward, so if smennings stay, monroe needs to go.

I'm of the opinion that we can be successful IF we add a couple of shooters to what we have and at least one other dude that can create off the bounce

If we keep them here, sign George Karl or D'antoni, trade Monroe for an athletic wing and let start the show. We probably wouldn't win anything, but we would look like a western conference team, and for sure would be funny to see us.

Anyway, I prefer a low pace and a defensive team, but it's not like Karl or D'Antoni were the devil. If we sign another not top coach assistant, I'll probably die with the heart broken.

As much as I want both Smith and Jennings gone, I'll play along.

We keep the Big 3 rotation at PF and C. SO absolutely sign and keep Monroe. This really isn't bad. We're overpaying at the 4 and it would be nice to have a stretch 4, but the 4 and 5 will not be this team's weakness.

Get a really good SF that can shoot from the 3. Got to have that otherwise both Jennings and Smith feel more compelled to shoot, which usually is a bad thing. Even if they were traded, this is still a huge need for this team.

Draft (Smart) or sign (anyone) to be our starting PG. Jennings would be fine as a backup, just not a great starter. He could become one, but needs to work on his game and decision making.

Last but not least, get a good coach that can teach the Pistons how to play as a team on both sides of the ball.
