Good point. Hope it happens.

Another excellent point. I agree that he can help with the free agents...players always have seemed to love him (post-playing days).

I think you guys are really overestimating the impact something like this will have.

^Jay-Z owned what 0.6% of the Nets and the media treated him like he was majority owner for crissakes. Isiah will have a larger percentage and has never met a camera he didn't like.

Jay-Z is also known worldwide by people of all ages. Isaiah Thomas, not so much.

There's nothing not to like. It brings a former star player back into the organization, while giving him no power or responsibilities. I also don't understand the reasoning behind not wanting Magic involved. (Is there something I missed?) I get that he was a "rival" to past Piston teams, but the guy is an NBA legend. Who cares, if he could join the organization in a similar fashion, I'd be all for it. If you're hoping Isaiah Thomas is going to do much good recruiting free agents, but you're opposed to bringing in Magic, that seems kinda silly to me.

Magic conspiring to keep Zeke off the original Dream Team should have him banned ever entering the state of Michigan let alone owning part of the Piston franchise where Isiah's number hangs in the rafters.

Get over it. Let's be honest, Isaiah was good, but I don't think he was better than any of the guards that were on the team.

And unless I'm mistaken, wasn't it MJ that wanted to keep Thomas off the team?

Edit: Chuck Daly was the coach, and wasn't there someone from the Pistons front office working in a similar position for the olympic team?

Freep says they want to get Bill Laimbeer involved in some way too. :)

I'm liking this even more now. Maybe Laimbeer as big man coach if they don't keep Rasheed?

Its hard to see he and Stan's personalities getting along as coaches though.
